24.01.2022 Am I ready for my driving test?? A golden questions often asked, heres a few things for you to consider first; Do I drive the car in a safe, competent and proficient manner? Have I experienced a wide variety of road types and feel safe, knowledgable and competent on them?... Do I understand the road signs and markings and how to act upon them safely? All of the above should not need any assistance from your supervising driver!! Think about your answers carefully and then you decide Safe Driving and have a great day Paula See more

20.01.2022 Driving in the rain... If you are on your L's or P's it's reasonable to assume that you have little or no experience of driving in wet weather. So here are a few tips to save you from learning the hard way: 1. Reduce your speed 2. Increase your following distance from the car in front of you. 3. Avoid sudden breaking, acceleration and turning to reduce the risk of skidding.... 4. Turn on your headlights if the light becomes dim. 5. Use your demister and aircon to keep windows clear. 6. Avoid big puddles of water on the road because these can cause your car to loose grip on the road. (lookup aquaplaning) These big puddles can also mask large potholes that may potentially damage your car or cause you to loose control of it. 7. Finally, my favorite! Watch out for other drivers who think that wet weather is fun. These drivers will spin their wheels at traffic lights and when exiting a side road and also think that they are drifting professionals and will often try to drift around a roundabout causing a hazard for other drivers (after wet weather take note of how many signs and lamposts are lay on the ground near roundabouts) Thanks, John & Paula... 18.01.2022 Hi to all the new drivers out there! On the roads over the Christmas holidays please remember to drive safely. The first year of driving poses the greatest risk of crashes for young drivers. P plates were reintroduced to remind young or inexperienced drivers that they are novice drivers and are still developing their on-road experience. They also help to remind other road users to exercise caution around P-plated drivers. So especially through this festive season when there's lots happening; parties, shopping trips etc.. to be extra careful out on those very busy roads and highways. Check out this link below for some helpful information on this. Have a wonderful Christmas, from all of us here at Driving Force school of motoring! https://publications.qld.gov.au//dow/yktd-v17-may-2016.pdf

12.01.2022 Changing lanes safely!! When changing from one lane to another it is essential that you judge the speed and distance of the traffic behind you accurately. Due to the convex glass in your door mirrors, cars behind you can seem much further away than they really are!! so after checking your mirrors and signalling your intentions to change lanes you must finally check over your shoulder to confirm that the car you are moving out in front of is not to close and going to be affected by your actions.. Safe driving everyone and have a great day. Paula

07.01.2022 Important note to all learner drivers!! Are you learning to drive with a family member or friend, if the answer is yes then this is a good opportunity that not everyone has, but how do you know if you are learning the correct way and to the standard required so it is important to take driving lessons with a qualified driving instructor amidst your driver training. Save yourself from the frustration of building those hard to break bad habits. Aim for that 1st time pass

07.01.2022 Recently I was teaching a student who was struggling with stalling when starting and moving the vehicle away. Upon investigation I discovered that the student drove a diesel when at home. I then understood their problem. A diesel vehicle will allow you to bring the clutch to the bite point without using the accelerator. But they were learning with me in my petrol vehicle, which requires you to use the accelerator in coordination with bringing the clutch to the bite point. I... explained this to the student and they began to understand the differences between petrol and diesel vehicles and put their learning into practice. They shortly after went on to pass their test first time In my vehicle! Moral of the story: before you get in to another vehicle - such as a friends think about the differences of the vehicle that may effect your driving skills. Happy driving from Paula See more

06.01.2022 Safety tip on parking on an uphill gradient... Pull up and turn your steering wheel to the right, so your front driving wheels are pointing away from the kerb. Apply handbrake firmly! Leave your vehicle in 1st gear. The reasons for these counter measures are; ... If your handbrake was to fail and your car started to roll backwards, 1st gear would resist this from happening. Also your angled front wheels would come to a halt against the kerb, ultimately stopping your car from rolling backwards and causing havoc! Note! Always keep your handbrake in full working order! Prevention is better than cure! Safe driving! Paula See more
06.01.2022 When you get your learners!! heres a few helpful tips to ensure learning to drive with mum, dad or a partner is enjoyable and not a chore for them or for you; be well rested. dont be in a rush. dont be hungry or thirsty, your concentration will suffer. pick an area to suit your capabilities! i.e. a quiet area (If you don't you will not look forward to your next lessons)... for the supervising driver!! make sure you show and explain all the controls of the car being used and there purpose and be patient with your learner As an instructor of many years experience i have learnt we are all individuals and we learn at our own pace not someone elses. Happy driving Paula See more
