25.01.2022 Wow what a fun day it was today - horses & ponies from 40 to 17 hands had a go at the dressage test then travelled around our new trek x country course. Fol...lowed by a tricky cones course to finish. The course is designed to be driven at any gait or long reined. The trek will be extended to about 3 kms Through the bush. Thanks to everyone for coming and the feedback was sensational. Watch this space for more new and exciting events that we are planning.

18.01.2022 The Jimboomba Christmas Parade was hit! After delivering the Hampers to our Emergency Heroes (Jimboomba Ambulance;Fire Services and Police...and getting some pho...tos this year!) we went around the shopping centers spreading Christmas Cheer and giving lollies out to the children. As usual super horse Thommo driven by Deb King with Lyn Mules on board as Santa (Lyn did a sterling job as it was really hot and humid!) lead the parade. Domonic ably driven by De Palmer in behind and me in the support vehicle behind them.Who knew that Domonic could catch a foot of air when going over the new grates at the shopping centre for the first time?(Sorry didn't catch the photo...just too quick) soon settled and was crossing the grates without a concern.Such well behaved and trained ponies.Lots of kids had pats;lollies and photos! The shoppers loved it and there were so many smiles. The most heartwarming disclosure made was that "2020 has been such a hard year...we so needed something like this to end the year on.Thank you" from one of our community members. To that we say..No Thank You Jimboomba! 16.01.2022 DIY Driving Course by the FEI If you want to advance in Driving competition, it’s essential to put in the practice hours, so you can move up the ranks. But how... do you get practice on courses like those used in international events? With many Driving athletes restricted in where they can train due to social distancing, and with travel always a logistics concern when it comes to multiple horses and a carriage, it’s helpful to create your own course at the home stables. Here are some pro tips on how you can build a challenging and safe driving obstacle course at your own property. Setting Objectives: First, it’s essential to set your objectives for the course. For example, your course might be designed to: > Simulate an entire competition course for your personal use > Host multiple teams at the stables or club > Create parts of a course to practice specific elements that are particularly challenging for you and your horses > Work your horses for stamina and precision while having some fun Space and budget are, of course considerations. But it’s better to construct fewer obstacles and do them right than to build an entire course cheaply. Safety is always the first concern, cautions Marc Johnson, who is a Director at Large for the American Driving Society and a well-known Driving competitor, instructor, and course designer. As well as being designed to reduce risk to horse and driver, your course should be challenging but still appropriate for the skill level and testing goals of every driving team that will be using it. If you aren’t sure how much to push the degree of difficulty, you can always refer to the Combined Driving Dressage element tests for any respective level, as well as guidelines and rules published by the FEI or Driving governing bodies for your region. This will inform you directly or indirectly about issues such as: > How tight to make turns > The steepness of slopes and difficulty of terrain > Gaits used and movements that should be mastered > Where transitions occur > Whether or not to include elements like bridges and water (see below) > What is expected of the horse Marathon Course Obstacle Building: When most drivers think about building a home course, they’re thinking about Marathon obstacles, primarily. They offer a great deal of flexibility, especially if portable obstacles are used, versus permanent ones...read more: https://www.fei.org/s/lifestyle/teach-me/diy-driving-course

06.01.2022 I had a most enjoyable introduction to driving at Nanango Showgrounds on Sunday. I have been around horses most of my life but somehow I have never had an oppo...rtunity to learn more about driving. Corby Cunnington touched on harnessing techniques, what to look for in a suitable carriage, the importance of a good groom and how to keep ourselves safe whilst driving. Here is a photo of me on my first attempt at driving lovely little Harry. I also had the opportunity to give the pair of ponies, Pocket and Tuesday a drive around the arena too. What a blast the whole day was. Thank you, everyone.
