25.01.2022 Please be aware of poisonous mushrooms in both public areas and your own backyard. They can be deadly to both humans and animals. Seek veterinary advice immediately if you think your pet has ingested these.

23.01.2022 I have a vision to create a beautiful orchard of various fruit trees it’s all about the long game. I’m starting with just a few trees this year & if I can keep them alive over summer I’m going to plant loads more next winter! Trees from Tom and Erin powell

22.01.2022 My brother is a K9 handler & this is the set up in the back of his truck. His smart passive alert detection dogs are well cared for & travel in air conditioned comfort. Did you know these clever K9’s are trained to detect 7 different scents for their specific line of work.

21.01.2022 Torvi cat update! Nearly 5 months old now & her voice is coming out. I tried to capture a video of her talking to me when I came home from work tonight, but she stopped as soon as I started recording.

21.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. Lest We Forget

21.01.2022 Rosie our gorgeous Wirehaired Vizsla has had her first night inside. With the nights getting colder & Rosie getting older we’ve made the decision let her sleep inside at night. She is amazing & so obedient, for a dog that hasn’t been inside much much of her life, she slept inside all night & didn’t move off her bed

18.01.2022 From 11:59pm tonight (Sunday 2 August) everyone in Victoria aged 12 years and over will need to wear a face covering when they leave home. This is a critical step in slowing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Victoria. We know that face coverings help stop droplets spreading when someone speaks, laughs, coughs, or sneezes, including for someone who has coronavirus (COVID-19) but feels well. Our front door will remain locked as per our COVID-19 Safe policy and masks must ...remain on when entering the building. On arrival please press the doorbell, on entering the building use the hand sanitiser provided. One family member per pet will be permitted. Veterinary care is classified as a critical service under the public health law. If you need a letter of evidence for your border permit, please contact us. Thank you for your patience, support and cooperation. From the team at @murrayriver_animalhospital

18.01.2022 I’m seeing so many backyard chickens pop up! So much so that the backyard chickens are becoming one of the most common birds presenting for veterinary care How many chickens do you have in your backyard?

07.01.2022 Hugh’s newest chook! The Dutch bred #barnevelder breed has to be one of the most popular, distinctive and attractive types of backyard chickens in Australia. Barnevelders standout breed due to its unique plumage, quirky personality and of course the pretty and peculiar eggs that they lay. Can’t wait to show you her eggs!

05.01.2022 Wish I could curl up in front of the fire like Torvi on a cold & wet day!

04.01.2022 #Serendipity is the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. Today was a serendipitous day!! Lauren & I first meet in 2005 when I was a new grad Vet & she was a fabulous Veterinary nurse at Holbrook. We both moved away, got married, had babies & kept in vague contact via the odd Facebook interaction. Then this year I started at Murray River Animal Hospital & shortly after so did Lauren! 15 years later we are back working together, unknowingly but definitely happy & very beneficially!

02.01.2022 What an incredible young girl, a beautiful story and how amazing is the impact of animals?!

01.01.2022 Sometimes we have to operate on our own animals. Today I castrated Roger! We already have his daughter Lily so decided it was time to desex him. Desexing your pet is vital component of responsible pet ownership. And also to prevent potential disease & illness in the future. https://www.vetvoice.com.au//pet-o/pet-desexing-explained/
