25.01.2022 Goodness on the go...? Here’s a selection of adds for ‘goodies’ that I discovered within a few minutes during my walk to work this morning. Predatory marketing is everywhere in our world these days. We are literally drowning in unhealthy foods, often dressed up as healthy. Do you think that government services should host this blatant preying of the ultra-processed food industry on our collective addiction to these dangerous foods?



24.01.2022 How did this make it into my fridge?! Up & Go is an ultra-processed nightmare with 25 ingredients, at least 4 teaspoons of sugar, two artificial sweeteners and a double dose of inflammatory seed oils. How on earth did this ‘food’ receive 5 stars on our Health Star Rating System?... Because the algorithm for the HSRS was created by one of the Sanitarium executives. A system designed by industry for industry. I must have a chat to my son...... What other unhealthy foods do you know of that receive a 5-star rating?

Humans evolved to eat meat and we thrive as omnivores, so let’s celebrate it!

20.01.2022 What’s it like to be blind due to diabetes? Just ask Neil Hansell who awoke one morning blind in both eyes. If you have diabetes of any type, make sure you have your eyes checked regularly by your optometrist or ophthalmologist. Better still, if you have type 2 diabetes, try to put your disease into remission with a low-carb dietary approach, in consultation with your treating health professionals.



17.01.2022 The 5 As of Sugar Toxicity. I came up with this concept one year ago to better understand why it’s so difficult for us to escape the lure of sugar. As a medical practitioner, I wasn’t aware that sugar is highly addictive, that we use it to alleviate stress, and that three-quarters of our food and drinks have added sugar. And I was also blissfully immune to the now obvious fact that our world is flooded with sugary products and adds for those products. Awareness is critical in our fight for better metabolic health.
