20.01.2022 Do you know a parent or educator trying to help a student navigate their way through the motivation wilderness? Then you might want to check out this article, myself & Professor Andrew Martin wrote for ACER Teacher Magazine. We discuss how values based 'personal best' goal setting strategies can be helpful for those students with lagging academic motivation. https://www.teachermagazine.com.au//using-personal-best-go

19.01.2022 The notion of a 'fear of failure' comes up all the time in my work with clients - especially for those with perfectionistic tendencies. What I have noticed, is that resilient people (or those with a growth mindset) tend to see mistakes or failures as an "investment in learning", rather than an indication of poor ability. One of my favourite quotes is, "Success is the ability to move from one failure to another without the loss of enthusiasm" - Winston Churchill Watch this space, I'm in the process of writing an article on this very topic.

Check it out & feel free to share. https://www.saac.qld.edu.au/blog/separation-anxiety-part-1

07.01.2022 The APSs first ever national advertising campaign, called 'Believe in Change' launches today. This campaign is an opportunity to reduce the stigma around seeing a psychologist and debunk some myths about psychology, by telling people what psychologists do, explaining the breadth of our work and how we can help people live more meaningful lives. Given the name and focus of my practice, I just love that 'CHANGE' is the key focus in this campaign! http://believeinchange.com/About-Us
