23.01.2022 Exceptional changes in exceptional times.... Many people have contacted me, concerned at not being able to get into their regular GP for several weeks. The medical force is going to be under huge pressure over the next few months - we will all need to be patient and work together to maximise community safety. I would advise you to avoid going to a medical clinic, or a hospital, unless you need to. In response to these exceptional circumstances, I will be offering a telehealt...h service until things settle down. I will start with a few hours in the evening and open up appointments if there is demand. This service will be open to NEW and existing clients of Thrive Skin Clinic and a copy of the consultation will be sent to your usual GP or uploaded to your medical health record. These services will be privately billed - at present there are no medicare rebates for telehealth consultations in most cases. I will post the full list detailing who fits this "bulk billing" criteria shortly. If you require more information please email Thrive Skin Clinic [email protected]. You can currently book online under "telehealth medical services" via the booking button on Facebook, instagram or via thriveskinclinic.com.au. It's important for us all to stay calm, keep engaging with the physical world (it's a gorgeous day out there!) and be creative. I do support social distancing and hand washing during this time- even if you are fit and healthy. By preventing human contact we can prevent the spread of COVID19 and save lives.

21.01.2022 It’s a weird world at the moment. But I know we will all get through this with love, compassion, and gratitude. We need to connect and nurture ourselves, and each other. Also gin helps, and is much less likely to cause rosacea! UPDATE from our medical director Dr Jemima Grant on #TheVirusThatShallNotBeNamed... As of today Telehealth consults will be bulk-billed until September 2020. All clients of Thrive, or patients who have seen me elsewhere over the last 12 months are eligible for this service. If you are new- I will have an initial consult with you register you with the practice. I will also be offering limited in-clinic appointments and home visits. I am not returning to General Practice for the long term but acknowledge that for the foreseeable future there will be a demand for all medical practitioners to step up and share the load. Currently, our clinic is unable to access a lot of essential medical equipment so for now we will focus on non-acute medical issues and keeping vulnerable people safe. If you have an acute respiratory illness, we won't be able to see you. As we are a small clinic, Thrive an ideal place to come if you are vulnerable: issues such as antenatal care, breast checks, PAPs and sexual health concerns (there are some things you can't do via video!), review of ear pain and infections. I'll also be doing skin checks and as we get more equipment in, we may expand services. Appointments can be booked online or via Facebook and Instagram. Please don’t DM about appointments. If you call, we'll try to call back in 24 hours. Email us if you are concerned and need an appointment out of those times. I’ll try to be flexible but also need to balance my family, other work and clinic demands. Thrive will be working with local pharmacies so medications can be picked up as a drive-through service, or delivered for a small fee. The aim is to reduce community contacts. We want to keep you, our staff, and this business safe. We can all work together and get through this! 19.01.2022 This is serious. Stop going out. Stop doing unnecessary things. We’ll all be ok , things will go back to normal if we just look after each other. (Virtually where possible.)

14.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS: GPs and specialists will be able to bulk-bill all telehealth consults as of 30 March!

10.01.2022 I saw a lady in ED a few weeks ago with a fall- I examined her and had a chat, and sent her home to rest. She heard on the grapevine I did not have any surgical masks and she dropped some off for me today!! How amazing!! . Thank you so much random lovely lady!! It means I can open my clinic for face to face consults this week- I’ll do one in clinic session on Thursday. I will be seeing a few antenatal women and some skin cancer patients. There are still a few spots left, but make sure you book first to make sure you need to come. Stay home and say safe!! #thive #thrivemedicalclinic #randomactsofkindness

03.01.2022 I have been overwhelmed with the support, but also the lack of knowledge about how to access telehealth consultations from your GPs - help is out there without the risks. See below for information on who is eligible for a bulk billing telehealth consult with their GP- spread the word. If you don't qualify, you can still have a private consultation. The number one message should be DON'T go into large crowds, wash your hands, and do things virtually if you can. THIS IS SERIOUS. I have colleagues overseas sending me messages about people dying in the UK and Europe. It's real. The serious risks are for males over the age of 70, but even well, young people can end up on life support. Do what you can now.

02.01.2022 Impressed by Shellharbour Private Hospital- opening a bulk- billing trauma/fracture clinic with extended hours. No GP referral required. What an awesome initiative! #steppingup #flattenthecurb.
