15.01.2022 {New update for visitors policy at The Women's and Frances Perry House} We understand this is a very challenging time and we sincerely appreciate everyone for following stay at home directives set by the government. These are in place so we can protect you and our healthcare workers during this pandemic. NEW UPDATE >>... In line with DHHS directives: ** partners/carers/support people can no longer attend consultations and ultrasound appointments at the hospital. This includes our private consulting rooms. Any support person will be asked to drop off the patient and return for pick up. ** A partner/carer/support person for an inpatient will only be allowed to visit a patient on a ward for 2 hours each day. ** A partner/carer/support person for a maternity patient in Birth Suite or Theatre can remain for the duration of the labour/birth but restrictions apply on post-natal ward per day. As you can imagine we are living in a very fluid environment and things may change anytime. We will closely monitor the situation and update you quickly as we can. Thank you for your understanding. Stay safe.

02.01.2022 Whooping cough vaccine is recommended as a single dose between 20 and 32 weeks in each pregnancy and is provided at no cost for pregnant women through the National Immunisation Program (NIP). Whooping cough is a serious disease for babies, and can be deadly. Vaccinating pregnant women is the best way to protect young babies against whooping cough. When you are vaccinated, your antibodies transfer from you to your developing baby. They receive protection from you when they are too young to be vaccinated themselves.
