23.01.2022 Dr Geoff Muduioa, Endocrine surgeon, spreading the message and spreading some joy at Brisbane Mater Hospital. Just what we need right now, great stuff Dr Muduioa.

21.01.2022 If you're a patient of The Hub, Burpengary, here's some information regarding government funded influenza vaccinations. If you're not eligible for a government funded vaccine you're encouraged to book for a phone consult to arrange a prescription for a private vaccination and to arrange a time to see us in person for you to have that vaccine.

20.01.2022 Stay at home when possible. Metro North 111 cases and Sunshine Coast 46 cases. There will be people out and about who don’t know they have it. Stay at home and stay safe.

20.01.2022 This is a powerful reminder of why flu vaccination is recommended for everyone. Protect yourself and reduce the risk of spreading it to others by having one this year. Flu vaccines are government funded for all children aged 6 months to 5 years old, everyone aged 65 and over and for people with some chronic diseases. Everyone else can access flu vaccinations via their GP.

17.01.2022 Dr Russ Harris's Happiness Trap App has been made available free of charge for the next few months as a resource for those having a hard time due to the current pandemic. If you'd like to access it just search in the app store and enter the code TOGETHER.

15.01.2022 For updates about services at Doctors at Landsborough, including when flu vaccinations are available please like and follow the clinic's Facebook page.

15.01.2022 To maintain a safer environment at the clinic I'm now offering bulk billed telephone consultations from both the Landsborough and Burpengary clinics. These are ideal for repeat prescriptions, follow up appointments and certificates. Please phone or go to hotdoc.com.au to book. Care plan and mental health plan appointments can also be done by phone but please contact the clinics by phone to arrange these. The clinics are still open for face to face consultations for issues which can't be dealt with by phone including vaccinations, examinations and wound care.

08.01.2022 Put your own oxygen mask on before helping others. This is a helpful resource for anyone struggling in these difficult times.

06.01.2022 In addition to face to face and telephone appointments I'm now taking bookings for bulk billed video consultations at Doctors at Landsborough. It's very easy to use, all you need is a smart phone. It's perfect for those consults where it's useful to see each other but where physical contact isn't required, including but not limited to consults for children, mental health and joint and muscle problems. Book online through HotDoc or phone 0753609350.

04.01.2022 Have you been put off making an appointment because you’re worried about coming to the clinic? Here’s how we’re keeping the clinics safe for you: - Encouraging telephone consultations . For this you don’t even need to leave the safety of your own home. Certificates and referrals can be emailed to you and prescriptions sent to the pharmacy of your choice. - We are still seeing patients face to face when needed. You’ll be asked to complete COVID screening questions on arrival.... If any concerns come up on these questions a doctor will speak to you by phone to discuss what to do. - People with flu/COVID like symptoms are not permitted in the main practice areas. If you have symptoms like a cough, sore throat, runny nose or fever you will either be see outside at your car or in the Hub’s dedicated isolation room by a GP in protective equipment. - You may be asked to complete part of your consult by phone and part face to face to reduce the amount of time you spend in the clinic. The less time you spend in the company of other people the less likely you are to catch infections. It also reduces the number of people in the clinic at one time which helps make social distancing easier. If possible attend on your own or with as few others as possible. - If you’d prefer to wait in your car until the doctor or nurse is ready for you, just let reception know when you arrive. - Hand sanitiser is available and encouraged to be used throughout the practices. - Surfaces and medical equipment are frequently disinfected. - The waiting room and consult room chairs are appropriately spaced to allow social distancing. - The reception areas have been fitted with glass screens to reduce infection risk. - Some procedures which increase transmission of COVID-19 have been suspended, such as spirometery. - You’ll notice some staff are dressed differently. I and many of my colleagues are now wearing scrubs which can be hot washed daily. We’re often consulting wearing masks and examining using gloves. This is as much for your protection as ours and we’re grateful for your understanding at this time. If you feel that there’s anything more that we could be doing, please let us know.

04.01.2022 If you have any queries about what COVID-19 is or why we’re being asked to do what we are please have a read of this excellent, balanced article. https://markjisaacs.com//david-isaacs-professor-of-infec/

03.01.2022 This video shows the personal protective equipment (PPE) used by staff looking after COVID-19 patients in Wuhan - it must be so hot and uncomfortable but excellent protection. In comparison most GPs and practice nurses in Australia have surgical masks, plastic pinnies, gloves and occasionally a mask when seeing potential COVID-19 infected patients and many clinics are running out of these. If you have symptoms you are likely to be triaged on the phone and if examination is r...equired you may be asked to stay in/by your car or come in to a specially allocated room for the safety of staff and other patients. If you're a higher risk patient or very unwell you may be directed to a fever clinic or emergency department where they have more comprehensive PPE. We're all very grateful for your co-operation in this and hope it keeps everyone as safe as our equipment allows. https://www.facebook.com/veena.ramacha//10157078262549080/
