25.01.2022 We have some beautiful products to assist parents in supporting their little ones during this time. Our Childrens Flower Essences are traditional essences, lovingly created by Himalayan Flower Enhancers specifically for Childosophy to support natural healing processes. The Wonder of You journal assists our little ones to learn a whole new way of listening to the messages their body sends them - and that these behaviours and feelings have meaning.... Our Childrens Wellbeing Cards are so close to being back in stock as well, and we cannot wait to share these with you all again. Head to our website www.childosophy.com to purchase.

24.01.2022 Practicing my Need to Speak! Last week we began the process of filming the Pure Wonder training so that we can make this amazing course available online and all around the world. I am so excited to be working on this as it has been a dream of mine for so long and I cannot wait to release the finished product once the filming and editing has been completed.... If you would love to be the first to know when we are ready to roll the program out, register your interest at [email protected].

24.01.2022 Exactly a year ago I posted this photo of the most beautiful bunch of students - my first UK student group. And it was soooo hot! What a roller-coaster of a year it has been but these beautiful students have continued their studies and are almost ready for certification. Thank you for your continued support to me and Childosophy - the little ones in the UK are so blessed to have you work with them soon.

23.01.2022 In 2018 I ran an I Wonder... series where parents could ask questions and I would answer them in a quick audio. Some of the questions I received are also very pertinent to the climate we find ourselves in at the moment - anger, sibling rivalry, fear of change, unpredictable behaviours and our own frustration as parents to name a few. These snippets of advice may offer you support during these times. If you would love to listen back to these they are available on Sound Cloud as well as some of my other interviews. 23.01.2022 As we are entering a new way of being at the moment, we have an opportunity to pause. Please do not rush to make the childrens experience at home a replication of the classroom. If we can take this opportunity to support the childs learning in new ways, this will bring more innovation and wonder to our lives. Instead of instructing children during this time make the space to attune with the child. Paying attention to the wellbeing of the child each day not focusing on whe...re they need to be at some future point in time. I have written in depth about the importance of moment to moment parenting in my book and this concept can truly become a reality for many at this point. Trusting children have everything they need within themselves for their own perfect self-development, will allow you to relax too. Meeting childrens emotional needs first (being present to their foundational needs) allows for their nervous systems to be optimal for growth - always and all ways. Allowing children this time to be relaxed open and curious without replicating the old - might just reset their nervous systems to be more prepared for learning schoolwork when they return to this type of structure again.

23.01.2022 The models and maps of the child that do not account for their wholeness are not able to support the child or adults to understand the child. During my doctoral research I found that none of our child models of growth and development considered the child whole and competent!! This was as recent as this century - my PhD was awarded for recognising that our children need a new map and model of the self that accounts for their wholeness. The Foundational Needs Model is the fi...rst whole-child model of growth and development that accounts for the complex interplay between the child’s body (sensory and biological processes), mind (mental, neurological, cognitive, and brain approaches) and spirit (actions in the form of the child’s behaviours and responses) as integrated from the very beginnings of life. It also positions the child as an active participator in its own unfolding. See more

21.01.2022 When we see behaviours we dont like, we can ask ourselves a question like, I wonder what my child is feeling to respond to life that way? Then when you can take pause, and even take a breath, you can ask yourself a question, rather than always projecting onto the child, you can also explore what the child might be feeling at the same time. For example, What would I have to be feeling to respond to life like that? Enquiring into a childs responses by asking oneself th...e question, What would I have to be feeling to do that? allows one to consider what a child might be experiencing. As you do this you begin to align and attune with your child. To come from such a relational stance requires a mindful approach. In such a relational environment, we are positioned to allow the child to open so we can then ascertain the purpose of the response, behaviour, or issues they are facing. In a dialogue that allows for an open-ended answer and also expresses to the child how you yourself might feel in such a situation (without, of course, making it about you), the focus becomes about the feelings, thoughts, and emotions beneath the childs action, not the behaviour itself. 21.01.2022 Thank you for this lovely feedback @nestleandbloom. These cards were originally self-printed under my Cosmos Child brand but will soon be printed under Childosophy by @rockpoolpublishing - and I am so excited! ........................................... The Cosmos Child Childrens Wellbeing Cards by @drmaxinetherese are designed with the intention of lovingly supporting children to... affirm their needs by bringing awareness to their chakras. The cards have been an incredible tool to help Atlas express his feelings and for our communication and bonding

20.01.2022 I am absolutely delighted to be holding this gem of a book in my hands. For those of you who have attended my library events, @mykeldixon has been my amazing MC and along with his beautiful family, has been a wonderful supporter of my work over many years. Congratulations Mykel, I am so excited to dive into this book.

20.01.2022 You can make yourself feel safe and secure anytime you want by connecting to your breath. Breathing in...I calm my body breathing out...I relax... Breathe into the feelings of discomfort or unease in your body when you are scared, feel uncertain or begin to panic. You dont need to have an answer as to why you are feeling what you are in this moment and you dont have to fix anything at all - just be in the wonder of YOU. The fascinating science of epigenetics shows us that the emotional patterns of unexpressed feelings, thoughts and trauma from our own childhoods affects our children. 17.01.2022 Being mindful is a big part of the process of deeply connecting with our children. It is not easy though, especially with competing demands of work, parenting, caregiving and the stress that accompanies our daily lives as we live through a global crisis. In order to truly connect, we must learn to hold space for our children. Making space requires time; more than this, however, it requires an intention to be present and a commitment to attune with your child. ... The mindful approach requires that adults engage in moment-to-moment awareness, hold compassion and unconditional acceptance of the child, as well as maintain emotional awareness and self-regulation of themselves.

16.01.2022 This was taken 2 years ago today at the MBS Festival Australia Sydney, when I was presenting to a crowd, when we gathered in crowds. I love how these memories flood the newsfeed and remind us of the passage of time. I have met many wonderful people at the Mind Body Spirit Festival Australia in the time I have been presenting there. Rockpool Publishing the publisher of my children’s wellbeing cards and Spiritual Events Directory who publish rebirth and who interviewed me for... their magazine this month. You can read the interview here https://issuu.com/rebirth-synk/docs/rebirth_4-10-2020

16.01.2022 We’re so excited! Our beautiful @childsophy Children's Wellbeing cards have been published with Rockpool Publishing and we are over the moon with excitement and delighted to share that they are now available for purchase at many good bookstores and of course on our website. They have also been published in the UK on September 17th which happens to mark another important date - my youngest son’s birthday!... If you have been waiting on these cards, you'll be delighted to know they are NOW available in AU/NZ and the UK AND will be available March 2021 in the US. Our Children's Wellbeing cards are designed with the intention of lovingly supporting children to affirm each of their important needs. Each card addresses a dimension of one of the 7 foundational needs of being human in a way that resonates with children and the child within all of us. There are 28 cards (four for each of the seven needs) as well as a guidebook that has a reading of each card. The cards assist both adults and children to become more aware of their needs and offer a way to encourage and affirm these needs in a simple way

16.01.2022 Becoming a mother has triggered the most wonderous and joyful experiences and sometimes the most challenging. This is my first son who was born 27 years ago today. Happy birthday Dillon, you are such a joy and are now the most amazing man! Through the growth and development of my children I have been gifted an opportunity to revisit my own needs at the same time. My children have ignited and reconnected me too as I focused and felt my way in mothering.... In my book I say In mothering, I see my unrealised potential mirrored back to me. Any limited patterns I see in my children are mine. When I change me, my children are free to express their potential - in their own way. My work in the world emerged more clearly on the day I became a mother. I am so grateful for the gift of my children and as they are both now adults, I am in awe of this gift to the world our children truly are.

14.01.2022 Life certainly has been a little topsy-turvy for our little ones.

14.01.2022 The Wonder Of You Journal has been designed with the intention of lovingly supporting children to know themselves from the very beginnings of life so they experience life in the wonder of who they truly are. This journal is based on a specific philosophy of the child that allows the childs unique and innate brilliance to unfold from a connected, open and whole foundation. The journal has been designed to prompt wonder in your child; a wonder about why they feel cert...ain things, and what their feelings, thoughts and emotions mean to them. And when they experience certain behaviours that seem uneasy of problematic for them they can be in the wonder what Foundational Need this all correlates with. By using the journal your children will begin to identify and heal their own specific unmet needs and also learn a language of need to be able to communicate their feelings and thoughts with you in a way not possible before. To purchase, head to our website www.childosophy.com or Amazon Australia.

13.01.2022 I have been writing a lot about anxiety lately. I have a few upcoming articles in some pretty cool publications, and I had an interview too that I can’t wait to share. In my experience I have never seen an anxious child with a parent who knows how to rest in themselves. ... It’s very natural if we see a chid struggling with anxiety that we as the adult might want to fix it! But can you rest in your own feelings? When your child is anxious - reflect and be in the wonder and ask yourself - how would I feel about that situation? Am I challenged by those very things myself? And if I'm challenged by those things, how do I then support my child to overcome the things that I'm challenged with - How do I meet their need if I cannot meet my own? That's why the foundational needs model really is such a beautiful tool in parenting, because we learn that we can grow together. And so, if we look at our child, we can say to ourselves ‘I see that you're struggling with something' What do you need? I wonder what the anxiety might look like then? Your mantra for the next time you feel anxious... If I can just come home to me here. If I can feel at peace inside me, then that's going to emanate out to my children"

13.01.2022 As parents we are growing with our children. My research has given basis to the idea that as your children grow they spontaneously bring up the unmet needs or unhealed aspects of your own self. Looking in the mirror is not always easy when our children offer us a reflection of something we don’t want to see, but it’s definitely worth it!! ... Allow the wonder of your child to open an exploration in you. Allow yourself to enter a space with your child where you are curious to see what they need rather than insistent on telling them - the benefits will astound you.

12.01.2022 The Need to Love. There are many ways to encourage your children to feel loved. Keeping gratitude journals or making gratitude beads helps your little one recount the things they are grateful for everyday. Encourage them to send loving thoughts to nature, pop little love notes into their lunchboxes or simply spend time hugging - a hug does wonders for the soul.

10.01.2022 In my work with parents, I ask them to consider their own energy when they are responding to their children. I guide them to feel into their heart centre, and place the focus there (the heart centre is both the metaphorical as well as the literal anatomical location for the Need to Love). I then ask them to tell me what it feels like. The answers vary and its often both powerful and challenging for parents to realise that when they are closed-hearted toward their children, they see more angry responses coming from them, and when they are open-hearted and loving, the child softens and opens up too. Excerpt from The Push for a Child Philosophy - What Children Really Need You to Know by Dr Maxine Therese - available via our website.

10.01.2022 I am so honoured to receive such amazing feedback for my book The Push for a Child Philosophy - What Children Really Need You to Know. If you would like to purchase the book, copies are available via our website www.childosophy.com or Amazon.

10.01.2022 Of course! It seems so simple and yet not always easy. The Dalai Lama says the human need for love is based upon the idea of interdependence, which he says is a fundamental law of nature. The codependent ways of loving and relating are being transformed and moving us collectively into a more advanced type of relating that is based upon unconditional love, of which compassion is a big part. . 09.01.2022 Who can believe it has been a year since this beautiful bunch of ladies graduated as Pure Wonder teachers? And what a year it has been! 08.01.2022 Did you know that Childosophy offers behavioural and therapeutic support under the NDIS for eligible families in the Geelong region? The supports facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth and the optimal development of personal resources on a one to one basis based on Dr Maxine Thereses Foundational Needs Model. Childosophy places a strong emphasis on ones feeling nature and emotions. A treatment supports participants to understand the reason beneath their... behaviours. The Childosophy process is self directed, and supports children and adults to self regulate. A treatment with a practitioner helps both child and adults understand what they need by way of their behaviours and offers a variety of ways to meet these needs. We now have capacity to service more NDIS clients at our Newtown clinic. If you would love further information to see how Childosophy can support you or your little ones, please head to our website.

08.01.2022 SHARING A POST from the FB CHILD LED PARENTING GROUP. Dear parents, School holidays are almost at a close here in Victoria, Australia, and many parents I have spoken to are thinking about the home-schooling set up they will adopt considering we are likely to have another month at least of state of emergency and the restrictions this entails.... Many schools have established online classes and some schools have delivered packs to their students to work through as part of their studies. This is all wonderful support for your child, if it fits for you and does not create further tension and stress in an already heightened situation for children and parents. As we are entering a new way of being at the moment, we have an opportunity to pause. Please do not rush to make the childrens experience at home a replication of the classroom. If we can take this opportunity to support the childs learning in new ways, this will bring more innovation and wonder to our lives. Instead of instructing children during this time make the space to attune with the child. Paying attention to the wellbeing of the child each day not focusing on where they need to be at some future point in time. 04.01.2022 When we do not recognise that children are indicating vital unmet needs through their actions, behaviours, symptoms and obsessions, we overlook important information. The issues and challenges for children, those things that arise as a matter of growth are not complications, but rather a natural response to the childs separated self, and thus offer opportunities to distinguish what needs of the child may be unmet. The adult expectation of how children ought to feel and thi...nk (based on how we have been taught to feel and think) can now be reconsidered and instead of projecting our feelings and thoughts on children we can gain more respect for the child as a self-directed being. . 02.01.2022 Unmet needs that arise in our children are not only from unconscious parental patterns but move within the generational line and the family system as a whole. If our children struggle with balance, the solution is not always about giving them more to make up for what we perceive we never had; it is an opportunity to reconsider loops of patterning and relating from our own past. These patterns are often hard to see, let alone exit, without our children bringing atte...ntion to them. The impact of those things unmet in our lives as parents becomes magnified very purposefully through our children, so we may review them and heal them. See more

01.01.2022 Because we can put conditions on our childrens love without even realising - "Ill love you when you behave. Ill love you when you say the right thing. Ill love you when you do the right thing. Ill love you when you achieve a particular task.". instead of just loving the child as a consequence of being their parent. And then all of the things that they do just become part of Life rather than a condition on which we place our love.

01.01.2022 Who needs some parenting support at the moment? I am running a live Zoom catch-up for participants in my Child Led Parenting group on Thursday 16th July at 8.30pm and I would love you to join in. Search in Facebook and join the Child Led Parenting group. Register via the link and I will see you online at 8.30pm. Feel free to send through any questions and we will chat about them during the call.

01.01.2022 I love this Fred Rogers quote. The last little while has been difficult - for both children and grown-ups - for so many reasons. The lack of social contact, financial and employment worries, change of routines, fear of illness and so on. I often speak about being in the wonder with our children - a time to reflect and ask "I wonder..." I wonder what my child must be feeling to respond in that way.... Have you been able to pause and reflect? To be in the wonder of our little ones? Have you been able to stop the noise and embrace the gift of silence?
