25.01.2022 IMPORTANT: If you have concerns about the wellbeing of yourself or your unborn baby, it's still important that you contact your maternity unit. The (hero) s...taff at your maternity unit will be able to advise you on our concerns - including whether or not you need to attend hospital. If you're self-isolating, please don't assume you can't be seen and don't delay calling for advice. However, it's more important than ever that the hospital are aware you're coming and can prepare for your arrival - especially if you're currently self-isolating. Always call them first. Together, let's share this message far and wide. Please ensure the pregnant women in your life know what to do if their baby's movements change from normal. www.kickscount.org.uk

18.01.2022 Important for all of us in Melbourne and Vic to remember right now. Why many things may feel out of our control, we always have control over our own reaction. Take time and be gentle with yourself xx

16.01.2022 Please be aware and check your local area in the list.

16.01.2022 This is exciting news!! In an unprecedented move, the newest version of the World Health Organisation's list, the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), which will come into effect in January 2022, will include TCM diagnoses for the first time in its history. The WHO sets the norms and standards for medical treatment around the globe and articulates ethical and evidence-based policy options. It categorises thousands of diseases and influences how doctors treat them; how insurers cover those treatments; and what kind of research is done on which ailments.

15.01.2022 As the weather gets colder, its the perfect time to get out your slow cooker out and make some congee for breakfast. Mine this week is apple, cinnamon and dates. Congee is the perfect way to help the spleen and stomach (digestive hub) stay warm and healthy, gently waking the digestion.

14.01.2022 Stage 4 update Firstly, I hope everyone is staying strong and trying to focus on whats in front of them and the things they can control in these uncertain and challenging times. We have received directives from the The Vic Govt for allied health, giving us clarity on the circumstances in which we can see patients during these current stage 4 restrictions. ... As an AHPRA registered practitioner, I am approved to stay open and see patients for face-to-face appointments. The main purpose of this is to keep the burden off our hospitals, whilst allowing you to get the care you need. However, face to face appointments are for urgent care only. You can seek an appointment for any condition that if left untreated would result in a significant change/deterioration in your condition, or in you being escalated for treatment elsewhere (e.g. a requirement for specialist input/review, an increase in care needs and/or alternate accommodation, avoiding a hospital admission or emergency department presentation). If you believe you fall into this category, please ring or email to arrange an acupuncture appointment. You are permitted to travel further than 5km for this care. However if you dont require urgent care, please stay safe at home until we are back in stage 3, or have a change in restrictions. For the majority of my patients, you can maintain continuity in your treatment via telehealth appointments, were we can review changes to your condition, and I can adjust your treatment as necessary, with herbal prescriptions available for pick up or post. If you have a face-to-face appointment booked with me, I will be contacting you in the coming days to discuss how these changes apply specifically to you right now. This is has been a difficult development which has taken some time to get my head around, but fundamentally we are trying to do whats best for the health of our community and as far as I can tell getting out of stage 4 is whats best, so if this means staying at home unless completely necessary than thats what we should all do. Please reach out if you need help in anyway, Im still here for you, even from a distance. Mel x

09.01.2022 COSMETIC FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE After many requests cosmetic facial acupuncture is now available in clinic with Melanie. Are you looking for a non toxic, relaxing facial treatment that helps ease tension while addressing other internal health issues in a holistic manner? ... Cosmetic Acupuncture is a form of acupuncture which focuses on ones complexion. Acupuncture points are also used elsewhere on the body to balance ones health and wellbeing, as the face is also a diagnostic tool in TCM. It works by inserting tiny needles into the skin to boost blood circulation and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

02.01.2022 Stress has been a common topic today in clinic, its important to focus on the things you can do to help settle your own emotions in the current situation we find ourselves. There are so many small things that can help, take a walk outside, listen to your favourite song, have a chat with someone who makes you feel good and dont forget to breath.. slowly and deeply x

01.01.2022 It’s a simple question, but can be so powerful, are you ok? There may never have been a more important time to ask the question, 2020 has certainly tested everyone’s mental health and many who may not have experience with mental health have started to struggle. Take the time today to check in with each other, but more importantly keep doing it after today xx
