25.01.2022 S T R U G G L E S I really needed this inspo as I start my working week tomorrow! For those of you with kiddos you know how bloody hard it is to balance home life and work life, and how bloody mentally exhausting it all is! Ive had a hectic few days with the kids while my hubby was working and a result my mind and body just feel completely shattered. This totally affects my mindset and I can feel everything start to get on top of me and I get totally overwhelmed by life... But...for me exercise helps my state of mind and so does a clean house Spending some time with my work besties @meaestheticsperth and @mzies always makes me feel better too Otherwise its just one foot in front of the other and I know soon Ill be back to my usual self I dont know why Im spilling this on here, I guess just to let everyone know that we all struggle at times and its ok to talk about it @injectables_ #struggletown #lifeinspo #drmoaesthetics
24.01.2022 C H I L L Wow that was a big week! I dont think Ive worked six days in a row since before I had kids (not counting the unconditional work of 24/7 parenting of course) Today was filled with swims at the beach and in the pool with the kiddos, hair of the dog, and a nice arvo nap - I couldnt think of a better way to spend my day off! ... Its amazing how refreshing it is to do sweet FA and be completely unproductive Whats your ideal Sunday? @aesthetecollective #sundayvibes #chillout #drmoaesthetics See more
24.01.2022 L O W E R F A C E Check out the improvement of the lower face and neck of this beautiful patient Her main concerns were her jawline/jowls and the sagging of her neck ... To start some dermal filler was placed deep in her cheeks to replace lost volume and improve the descent into the lower face Several ml of long lasting dermal filler placed along her jawline has lifted her jowls, tightened her jawline and even improved the appearance of her neck This particular product is laid deep down above the bone, gives amazing lift and is perfect for jawline definition Pain is minimal with the use of cannula which acts to reduce bruising and the risk of damaging important structures like blood vessels, with only minimal discomfort and downtime for the patient #jawlinefiller #neckrejuvenation #drmoaesthetics @ Perth, Western Australia See more

24.01.2022 P R E C O V I D L I P S FAR OUT this feels like sooooo long ago! Right before the world turned upside down and I stopped doing my cosmetic work, I had a visit from one of my fave patients who I have been seeing for years She is gorgeous and petite, and her lips are too. So we have been working on slowly but steadily increasing her lip volume over this time ... Swipe for some of her pics along the way I will be back in the saddle VERY VERY SOON DM TO GET ON MY WAITLIST FOR AN APPOINTMENT #naturallipfillers #lipsbydrmo #drmoaesthetics @ Perth, Western Australia See more
23.01.2022 N E C K R E J U V E N A T I O N Im just a liiiitttle obsessed with necks atm. Probs because mine is starting to show my age Thin, crepey skin anyone? Saggy bits? More pronounced neck lines or tech neck due to too much technology usage or years of sun damage? ... We concentrate so much on facial rejuvenation that other areas like the neck, dcolletage and hands get left behind -where unfortunately it is much harder to hide the signs of ageing Thankfully there are quite a few non-surgical options for neck rejuvenation. If you have moderate or severe sagging or a turkey neck then surgery is your best bet. However, for those with mild to moderate age related changes of their neck, such as skin laxity, thin skin or worsening neck lines there are definitely treatments that can improve things! 1 Platelet-rich plasma: growth factors stimulate collagen and elastin, improving skin quality and tightening the skin 2 Toxin: wrinkle relaxer to soften the bands of muscle that run up to the jawline and to tighten the skin 3 Skinboosters: a thin dermal filler that hydrates and plumps the skin 4 Collagen stimulators: for long term stimulation of collagen There is no one size fits all! We can also mix and match several of these options together depending on your situation #yourewelcome #dontletyourneckgetyoudown #neckrejuvenation #drmoaesthetics See more
22.01.2022 I M B A C K B A B Y Not quite back to delete those Covid-induced wrinkles but its not far away now! Yep you heard right, I am super stoked to announce I will be back consulting at the Applecross clinic from this Friday 22nd May ... As we are lucky enough to have very low Covid case numbers in WA, and there is enough personal protective equipment available for health professionals, I feel it is now appropriate for me to slowly reintroduce medical services ONLY at this stage This DOES include: Neuromodulator injections for migraines, tension headaches, TMJ dysfunction and teeth grinding. Weight loss, dietary advice and prescriptions Skin assessments and treatment plans Vitamin infusions and injections This DOES NOT currently include: Treatments for cosmetic reasons only Laser therapy Dermal fillers For your own safety, the following measures have been put into place in the clinic: Temperature screening on arrival Hand sanitiser on entry, pre- and post-treatment Maintaining social distance of 1.5m No skincare testers, magazines, pamphlets or beverages in the waiting room Short appointment times of 15-30 minutes duration maximum Thorough cleaning of ALL surfaces between patients Attending your appointment alone, please do not bring children to the clinic. This is to ensure there is only one person in the waiting room at any time Patients will be screened prior to their appointments - please do not attend the clinic if you have a fever or any respiratory symptoms at all. I will of course be wearing personal protective equipment but please be ensured this is for your safety only Looking forward to FINALLY catching up with all my lovely patients! Ive missed you! #covidcrinkley #timetogetbacktoit #drmoaesthetics See more
21.01.2022 E D U C A T E With soooo many cosmetic clinics popping up out there now (new lips/cheeks after you do your weekly shop anyone? ) it is super important that patients educate themselves as to what makes a quality cosmetic injector QUALIFICATIONS... Is your injector a qualified doctor of medicine or a registered nurse? And are they registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)? You can easily check this yourself by going to the AHPRA website and typing in the practitioners name EDUCATION Obviously to be a cosmetic injector you need a University degree in either medicine or nursing However medical practitioners need to be constantly undergoing further education and this is a requirement of their medical registration with AHPRA Does your practitioner regularly attend seminars, courses and conferences to keep up to date with the latest developments in the field? EXPERIENCE There is a vast difference between someone who dabbles in injecting or someone who is all-in and committed to the craft. You want an injector who has clocked the hours and therefore injected 100s or 1000s of patients - rather than being able to count their patients on their hands! I have been injecting full-time for 3 years and I still learn something from every patient I inject Does your injector strive to learn, push themselves out of their comfort zone, attend training sessions and learn new skills and techniques? Are they able to offer you a full face assessment? Or do they just do lips and frowns? Do they have emergency protocols in place and know how to manage any side effects or complications that may arise? TLDR: KNOW YOUR INJECTOR #whoisyourcosmeticinjector #cosmeticmedicine #drmoaesthetics See more
21.01.2022 I N S T A F A K E R Y In the spirit of the post by @drnaomi1 today regarding makeup tricks used to improve before and after pics on Instagram... Im going to post some of my lips that Ive not posted yet! I see so many PERFECT lips on insta (makeup? lighting tricks? photoshop?) that Ive developed a bit of a complex and Ive been thinking that my lips arent good enough to post on instagram anymore ... I guess thats the point isnt it - none of us are perfect and NO SET OF LIPS ARE PERFECT - I just fell for the insta trickery that is seen on so many accounts and felt like I wasnt good enough!!! So here are some of my recent lips that I am super proud to post, completely in their natural post-filler state, with their swelling, slight asymmetries, non-crisp vermillion borders, needle marks, and blotchy skin This is how lips look IN REAL LIFE Hopefully we can increase awareness and educate our patients and followers on how not to fall for any instafakery #nomoresmokeandmirrors #reallipfillers #drmoaesthetics @ Perth, Western Australia See more

20.01.2022 I N J E C T A B L E S Seeing the signs of ageing on your face but dont know where to start? Heres a little guide to how injectable treatments may help you...... WRINKLE RELAXERS Soften and smooth facial wrinkles caused by the contraction of muscles. Commonly treated areas: frown, forehead, crows feet, bunny lines in the nose, gummy smile, downturned mouth, lip flip, dimply chin, jawline and neck. Can be used to reduce muscle bulk in the face, neck/shoulders, and calves. Also helps with teeth grinding and facial slimming. Can treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) by reducing activity of the sweat glands. Commonly treated areas include the armpits, face and hairline, even the palms and soles of your feet! DERMAL FILLERS Restore volume loss due to the effects of ageing, and add contour to the face. Commonly treated areas include temple hollows, cheeks, jawline, chin and lips. Also around the mouth and under the eyes. THREADLIFTS Threads are absorbable sutures that are inserted to lift and tighten the tissue. They stimulate the production of collagen in the treated areas and also improve the quality of the skin. Commonly treated areas are the cheek and nasolabial fold, the marionette lines and the jawline/jowl. COLLAGEN STIMULATING FILLERS These are essentially substances that when injected stimulate the body to produce collagen. This occurs over time and results tend to peak 4-6 months after treatment. Can also be used to improve skin quality. Can be used in the face, neck, dcolletage and even the buttock area. FAT DISSOLVING INJECTIONS Injections that cause the break down and excretion of fat cells. Good for stubborn pockets of fatty tissue such as under the chin, bra fat, and small areas of abdominal fat. Still have no idea? No worries. Come in for a chat and we can make a plan specifically tailored to your needs #cosmeticinjectables #perthcosmeticdoctor #drmoaesthetics See more
20.01.2022 M A K E U P Just a little PSA re: makeup and dermal filler appointments PLEASE please please DO NOT wear makeup to your filler appointments ... For those of you with appointments at the beginning of the day, please do not slap on a full face of makeup just for me! I am only going to remove it all once you get into my treatment room. Also it is much much easier for me to assess your face when it isnt fully made up and contoured I totally get that many of you may be coming from work or being out and about and you couldnt be fresh faced. And thats all good Can I ask that you please try and come a little earlier to your appointment, so you can remove your makeup before you come and see me Why ? It eats into your appointment time. I could spend 15 minutes removing your makeup - wiping, wiping, and more wiping This is 15 minutes extra injecting you could have had! Increased risk of infection How often do you clean your makeup brushes? Did you know some studies have shown that 100% of makeup brushes are contaminated with bacteria, some of which can cause really nasty skin infections? My injection sites then provide the perfect entry point for those bacteria to get through the skin to the tissues below A couple of months ago I attended a round-table discussion with a group of experienced injectors focusing on prevention of the complications of dermal filler One of the MAJOR contributing factors to the development of infection after dermal filler was inadequate cleaning of the face prior to injection! The bacteria can then penetrate the surface of the skin, find and infect the filler lying underneath, and cause all kinds of problems And dont be surprised if after your filler injections I place a big dollop of hand sanitiser on your hands afterwards...I know the first thing you will want to do after your appointment is touch your beautiful new face #yepimacleanfreak #safetyfirst Dont forget babes, youre still a 10/10, makeup or no makeup! #makeupfree #dermalfillercomplications #drmoaesthetics See more

09.01.2022 S L E E P Yeah wow, I am totally still suffering the after effects of a 4am finish after our @renaissance_clinics Christmas Party on Saturday night Woke up feeling very bleurgh today and my skin obviously feels the same way - Im puffy, blotchy and dry ... So - did you know that getting an adequate amount of sleep promotes healthy skin? Skin is an important barrier from external stressors such as environmental toxins and sun-induced DNA damage. Sleep promotes repair and regeneration of the skin at a cellular level. In fact - studies have shown that poor sleep quality can accelerate signs of skin ageing and weaken the skins ability to repair itself at night! So poor or less sleep is actually accelerating the ageing process During sleep: Melatonin is produced which acts as an antioxidant, protecting the skin from daytime environmental stress such as UV damage. Levels of the stress hormone cortisol fall during sleep, which helps skin repair any daytime damage. The body makes more collagen, which minimizes fine lines. More human growth hormone is released, increasing muscle mass and strengthening skin. The skin produces moisture at night and replenishes its hydration and barrier function. Just a little something to remember this party season...it is actually called beauty sleep for a reason! @thewhitefiles #needmorebeautysleep #skinhealth #drmoaesthetics See more
08.01.2022 T E M P L E F I L L E R Anyone noticed their face becoming thinner and more angular as they get older? As we age, we lose volume in our face due to changes in the skin, soft tissues and bone. We become thinner in some parts (for example the temples) and heavier or saggier in others (such as the nasolabial folds and jowls) due to the effects of these changes ... This thinning can result in a hollowness through the temple area, and can give what we (affectionately ) call a peanut head. This is because the temples become hollow and dip inwards between the forehead and the cheekbones, making you look like a peanut This beauty is naturally thin through her face and is also very athletic, which worsens her temple hollows. Adding dermal filler to this area gives such a beautiful subtle result It lifts the brow and opens up the eyes, making her look less tired and sad, and it can even improve the jowl! The overall result is a softer, more youthful look. Whats not to love? However - this is an advanced injection technique that should ONLY be undertaken by experienced injectors with specific training in this area! There are several arteries running through the temples therefore knowledge of the anatomy in this area is super SUPER important #nomorepeanutheads #templefiller #drmoaesthetics @ Renaissance Cosmetic Clinics See more

06.01.2022 C H E A T I N G Well aint that the truth?! Yep, we can always tell when youve gone elsewhere... ... In all seriousness though, it does make things harder for us as injectors when we get patients who constantly flit from one clinic to the other and from one injector to another I totally get that you may not gel with other injectors and you are searching for someone who you click with. Or youve had a bad experience and are just wanting to move on. Or you just cant get in with your injector when you want to! But we dont all inject the same way, we use different products and techniques...so its always going to be a slightly different result from injector to injector As a lovely patient of mine so aptly put it yesterday, patients need to just pick and stick (you know who you are - thanks for the inspo ). If you dont stick we cant figure out what works for you. We can work WITH you when we get to know you. Come back for your follow up appointment so we can see how things have settled. We can get to know your face and your muscles and how you use them and what does and doesnt work for you. We can make tweaks if we need to and make a plan for your next treatments. We can build a long lasting, beautiful relationship together When you stick, we will be there for the highs and lows of your life, and we will do our best to make you feel like the best version of yourself that you can be #pickandstick #loveyourcosmeticinjector #drmoaesthetics See more
05.01.2022 C H E E K F I L L E R Holy moly, I seriously have ZERO WORDS for this transformation Now this beautiful girl has had an extremely tough couple of years so if anyone deserves some self care, she does. A little cheeky dermal filler and she looks like a completely different person! As you can see in the after pics, I couldnt keep the smile off her face (or mine I gotta say) ... Note how she looks less tired around her eyes, her nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines) have softened, and her lower face has lifted. And check out the difference between the treated and untreated sides of her face! Its mind blowing what a little bit of strategically placed filler can do Dermal filler for the cheeks starts from $550 per ml. This result was achieved with just 2ml #thisiswhyilovewhatido #cheekfillerftw #drmoaesthetics
05.01.2022 W A S H Y O U R H A N D S I have legit never washed my hands so much as the last few weeks. Literally every time I touch something I am washing them again I know you SHOULD ALL KNOW THIS BY NOW, but since handwashing is the new obsession, its super important we are all doing it properly ... Coronavirus particles have a envelope made of lipid (fatty) molecules which are inactivated by soap. Therefore washing your hands correctly is your SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT DEFENCE against Covid-19, and even more important as restrictions start to relax and we can get out and about more How is Coronavirus spread? It is droplet spread, which means via coughing and sneezing of an infected person. These droplets can land on surfaces and studies have shown the virus particles remain active on surfaces from hours-days But how do I get infected? From breathing in droplets or by touching contaminated surfaces. Virus particles can enter the body via your mouth, nose or eyes. Therefore DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE!!! On average we touch our faces an average of 23 times an hour Solution = WASH YOUR HANDS every time you touch something! Simples! How do I wash my hands? Use soap (and yes normal bar soap is fine) or if no soap is available, hand sanitiser at a concentration of more than 60% alcohol. You need to lather up, and wash for at least 20 seconds to ensure all the virus particles are inactivated. Dont forget the tips of your nails, the webs of your fingers and your thumbs! YouTube has some great hand washing videos - its amazing how hard such a simple task can be! Every patient of mine will be washing their hands as they enter my treatment room, so Ill be able to judge your technique soon! Ive always been a massive history buff and a fan of anything wartime, but anyone else been loving wartime movies/books during their iso-time? So important to put things in perspective! 01.01.2022 P S A For those who have been asking, I am still open for business and will be working at Renaissance Applecross on Tuesdays Thursdays and Fridays, and conducting my outer metro/rural clinics on Saturdays until further notice As my patients will all attest to, I love to clean clean and clean some more when it comes to their faces and with the current state of affairs this love and attention to detail now extends to my treatment room, and of course to the entire cl...inic. Please forgive me if I am running a few minutes late, as I am thoroughly cleaning my room with my fave hospital grade disinfectant VIRACLEAN after each patient Please be respectful to others by rescheduling your appointment if you: Have recently been unwell in any way Have any cold or flu like symptoms Have recently travelled overseas or interstate Have been in contact with any potential COVID-19 cases I have been watching the world events unfold and as a medical professional I encourage you all to please take COVID-19 very seriously and do your part to keep yourselves and your families safe: Cough and sneeze into your elbow not your hands Wash your hands with soap or hand sanitizer (alcohol content must be greater than 60%) for 20 seconds or more each time Do not touch your face if you do not need to Limit physical contact and maintain 1.5m from others at all times Avoid public places as much as possible If anyone wants to come in for a chat or a vent about whats happening atm I am all ears, these times are unprecedented and maintaining your mental health is super important I promise I will continue to post as many funny memes as possible to keep things lighthearted #staysafe #flattenthecurve #drmoaesthetics @ Perth, Western Australia See more
