18.01.2022 Thoughts on day 1 of lockdown 3.0. After the announcement of stage 4 lockdown in Victoria yesterday, I have spent my Saturday rescheduling surgeries that have to be postponed during the next 5 days. This has a huge impact on those individuals who have made a big decision to have surgery, only to have their plans taken away from them. For others, it will be childcare issues, juggling homeschooling and work responsibilities, and for many, dealing with resurfacing anxiety... and concerns for what lies ahead. I am leaning on my support crew once again. I am trying to deal with my emotions of frustration, anger and disappointment in those who have made decisions that have lead to this which ultimately affect the masses. We in Victoria have sacrificed and suffered for many months last year to be finally rewarded with eradication of COVID-19 - only to have it invited back into our major cities. My thoughts go out to all those who are again being challenged by this situation. Please look after yourselves and each other - there is enough toilet paper to go round .
