23.01.2022 Its Carl again. I have just come out of looking at the fruit in the orchard by the road. Here I was thinking to maybe open it up in a weeks time, maybe two. Against all the odds, we now have fruit ready for picking so we will host another pick day this Sunday 9th. I apologise for the short notice but I was very much caught by surprise. If I could clarify something here. The open days are intended for us being a part of our community and sharing the fruit with local families who come and stock up for the year ahead. These are people who's intent is to ensure they and their children have the best possible food to eat. We are not wanting to turn the orchard into a tourist attraction. We are not an amusement park. Please respect our wishes Carl

21.01.2022 I can be hard to catch in the office so if the landline doesn't answer, please try my mobile 0405 756 002. Please do not try using Hellen's 0408171839. my thanks Carl

20.01.2022 The new picking season has arrived at last. We will start with the first pick on Sunday 2nd Feburary. Hopefully we will pick every Sunday through to the end of March. However, that is totally dependant on the weather and the interest shown. We will open usual hours of 10.00 till 3.00. Pricing this year will be the same as last year of $12 a kilo for 1kilo or more and $15 a kilo if less. We have been having trouble with the local Mobile phone tower but if it is behaving itse...lf, I can be contacted on 0405 756 002 or [email protected] Looking forward to seeing here at Dromana Blueberries, 15 Dromana Drive, Oyster Cove Carl Sykes

16.01.2022 Our next Pick-Your Own will be this Sunday 17th Feb 10.00 to 3.00. We will have the "Blue Rose" variety on offer for those who are interested. Looking forward to seeing you, Carl

15.01.2022 Hello, I am Carl Sykes. For those who have picked at Dromana Blueberries in years past,I am a familiar face. We will be commencing the Pick-Your-Own season next Sunday (10th Feb) from 10.00 to 3.00. We will have on offer the Blue Rose variety. The Brigitta still needs time to really come on. I look forward to see familiar faces again as well as new ones.

14.01.2022 Its Tuesday morning. Some awesome fruit was picked on Sunday. The number of people who came was pretty spot on because there were enough to pick the current generation of ripe fruit without being pressured into picking fruit that wasn't quite ready yet. I am hoping the weather this week will be warm enough to bring on the next generation of fruit so enough will be ready for a pick this coming Sunday. However, I will make that call on Friday. Hope you have a great week and see you soon. Carl

10.01.2022 Friday the 6th of March. It has been an interesting week regarding the fruit. I was not expecting what has come to pass. Firstly I will be needing to take the Bluerose out of the picking system. It will all be needed for the tea. As for the Brigitta, 50% of the fruit is ready. However, the other 50% still isn't yet. If the picking is put on hold for another week, it should allow the bulk of the "yet to ripen" fruit to come good. The fruit that is currently ripe will not only h...old for the coming week, they too will improve as well. The upshot is that with extra time then the Brigitta can basically be faced as in, there will be little need to be selective about what one picks. Also there will be extra time for the fruit to fill out better because of the rain we have had. It will help make up the shortfall due to the Bluerose being off the menu. I apologise to everyone who was looking forward to picking this Sunday. I am sorry too for having to take the Bluerose out of the system but needs definitely must. Hopefully there will be no twist this coming week to mess with a pick the following Sunday (15th March). Hope you all have a fab weekend and a great week. Carl See more

08.01.2022 Unfortunately we will not be able to host any more pick-your-own's this season. We just do not have the fruit. I am sorry to have such disappointing news. I personally know that many of you were looking forward to at least one more pick. I am really going to address why we had such a poor yield this year and make sure we do not have a repeat next year. Once again, I am sorry you will not have another opportunity to pick this season. Next year WILL be bigger and better and I look forward to seeing you again then. Very best wishes Carl

08.01.2022 It is now Friday morning of the 21st Feb. The fruit hasn't ripened as I would have like but we will go for picking this Sunday 23rd anyway. Still need to be selective with the picking. A lot of the Brigitta has come on but not all and the Blue Rose needs another week for the main body of fruit to get nicely plump. However, there is some really nice Blue Rose particularly under branches where people have missed them. And as a good omen, Sunday's weather will be perfect. It will be a good day. Carl

07.01.2022 Friday morning (the 14th so Happy Valentine's Day). The fruit has come on. However, would like more fruit in the picking zone to make the picking easier. So we will pass on this Sunday and look to Sunday the 23rd instead. I will confirm next week but feeling confident that it will be a go.

05.01.2022 Hello. I am Carl Sykes. To those who have picked blueberries at Dromana Blueberries in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, I will be a familiar face. I am back fr...om New Zealand for the full picking season. Our season is very later this year and also the crop is not as heavy as I was hoping unfortunately. So.... the first Pick-Your-Own will be on Sunday the 9th Feb and we will start with the "Blue Rose" variety. The Brigitta is still a long way off proper maturity yet. We can only wait and see how it matures in the weeks to come. I am looking forward to seeing again in the weeks ahead. See more

04.01.2022 It is Tuesday 19th Feb. It was a good day on Sunday and even the weather was kind to us. Am not sure when the next Pick-Your-Own will be. We will definitely not be having one this coming Sunday (24th Feb). If you could keep an eye on this page and I will do an update next week. Many thanks Carl
