16.01.2022 BRAEDO'S BACK With 2020 been a wipe out for community football the club has been looking towards 2021 and has recruited 2020 U17s coach Braeden Dennis to take on the U19s. Braeden has coached the U19s previously in 2016 and 2017 and is a 2013 Senior Premiership player. With a large group of 2020 U19 players still eligible and an influx of 2020 U17 players we should have good numbers of capable players keen to represent the club and provide the next wave of senior footballers.

14.01.2022 NEW RITCHIE'S CARD Important changes to how the NEW Ritchies Card can assist your organisation The Ritchies Community Benefit Program has made a financial difference to many, many clubs, schools and charities over the past 26 years. You’ll be pleased to know we have contributed more than $50 million dollars back to the local community. We have also been seeking the best way to continue our financial support for all of our valued partner organisations. As a result, we will ...be launching a new Ritchies App and Ritchies card on 14th October, 2020. We want you to be the first to know about how the program will change and what your organisation will need to do in order to continue to receive financial support from Ritchies. The Community Benefit Program will transition to a new Ritchies Card App, available from the App store or Google Play, and will issue new physical cards (Ritchies Card) available free from any participating Ritchies Store. Shoppers will be required to download the App, or apply on line at www.ritchies.com.au/loyalty, and then choose a charity, school or club they wish to direct their financial support. This is where you come in! In order for your organisation to receive as much cash as possible on a monthly basis, you need to communicate the new program to your members and supporters. The more shoppers that nominate your organisation, the more cash you will receive. This would have to be the easiest and least costly way to raise funds for your organisation! Please see the attached marketing material with simple instructions on ways to alert your key supporters of this change and how best to drive them to re-nominate your organisation. We are making this change because we want to continue to support local communities surrounding our stores, support our incredible partner organisations, as well as modernising the program. It will also allow us to offer additional personal discounts, promotions and new and exciting features to Ritchies card members. With historical monthly donations soon to be discontinued, it is important your organisation is very pro-active in getting your current and new members to sign up again. Your understanding and feedback is welcome as always, so please contact [email protected] with any questions you may have or for more information go to www.ritchies.com.au

10.01.2022 VALE KELVIN ROGERS On page 30 of the club’s Centenary Year publication (i.e. 1996), there is a brief comment regarding the Rogers’ brothers, Mark and Kelvin. It reads as follows Characters to rememberMark and Kelvin Rogers...These two brothers have been helping the club for years. They have played in the 2nds, been water boys, trainers and general helpers. As the record books show, the Rogers’ brothers gave outstanding service to DFNC as volunteers; and it is with he...avy heart that the club informs members that Kelvin passed away on the 25th January 2021. Some readers may be unaware that last part of Kelvin’s life-journey was arduous. He had battled serious illness for many years; and, in recent times, had required the assistance of a wheelchair to aid his mobility. Despite his debilitating illness, Kelvin maintained his determined spirit and cheerful outlook on life. Kelvin enjoyed his lengthy involvement with Dromana Football Club; and assisted the club wherever and whenever possible. Although he was unable to attend matches in the last decade, Kelvin was always anxious to hear about the club’s fortunes and enjoyed ‘catching up’ with the latest news about the team. He was ‘over the moon’ when the club won back-to- back flags. He was also a keen and talented cricketer and was awarded Life Membership of for his service to Tootgarook Cricket Club. In earlier years, Kelvin gained a handsome reputation as a track rider in local stables; and he possessed a wide understanding of the equine and racing industry. All members express their commiserations to Mark and the Rogers’ family on the loss of Kelvin; and place on public record the club’s appreciation his sterling contribution to DFNC for more than two decades.
