23.01.2022 Big rains in the south east of Tasmania. What you can be doing to help your drainage plan and documenting what is going wrong.

23.01.2022 Putting in drains with GPS

22.01.2022 Will recently had a chat to Tasmanian Irrigators about his own experience of using drone data and other precision ag tools in his own multimillion dollar irrigation development last season. At Drone Ag we focus on quality data and the application of data to maximise the ROI of the information. Our team of pilots, data handlers and consultants make Drone Ag a one stop shop from problem to solution. Get in touch with us to discuss finding a solution to your problem.

22.01.2022 Kyle showing his dedication after snapping his hip not so long ago. We are grabbing some harvest data of poppies to mesh in with 3D volumetric calculations of biomass and crop health maps to try and make a predictive outlook for estimated crop tonnage 6-8 weeks prior to harvest. A big ask but if you dont ask the question and test a big data set you will never know whats possible. Another 8 weeks of the wheel chair for our dedicated CFI!

21.01.2022 Will chatting about his own irrigation investment and the power of our data.

21.01.2022 Will has just had the pleasure of presenting at the Landwise 2018 Conference in Havelock North, New Zealand. The focus of the presentation was around drainage and taking pretty pictures beyond refrigerator art. It was a great couple of days with an inspiring line up of presenters and attendees with heaps of cutting edge tech demonstrated and presented. It was also great to catch up with a number of NZ UAV operators and chew the fat over how to keep pushing the UAV Ag sector forward.

21.01.2022 A great day today giving a talk on what drone data can be collected and how it can be integrated into farming systems. We followed it up with some flying demonstrations and tips and tricks.

21.01.2022 The return of #M600 at 26% battery and 50+ha mapped in a very random paddock shape. #djiglobal #matrice600 #dronepilot #drone #droneoftheday #takeoff #farmingtas #dronelife

21.01.2022 Punching out the hectares today!

21.01.2022 Drone AG co-owner Kyle and son Locky Gardner who head up Aerial-Vision Australia produced a bit of footage that’s reached a global stage in Sir David Attenborough’s recent documentary on Tasmania! If you are looking for footage to promote your business and want a Attenborough worth edit hit us up and in conjunction with the team at Hype TV we can produce world class promotional material for your business.

21.01.2022 Conducting dragline inspections within NSW coal mines. Our high resolution cameras fitted with zoom lens coupled with high precision RTK hover ability allows for a detailed inspection of these normally hard to reach HUGE machines.

20.01.2022 The poppy tour of Tasmania is nearly over! We started just outside Hobart and have ended up in the North East corner of the state outside Winneleah this morning! Weve clocked over 43hrs airborne gathering data and processing untold images. Yesterday we set a PB and smashed out 26 paddocks in a day with 13.5hrs operating! Looking forward to knocking this job over! #dronelife #precisionagriculture #dronefarmer #drone #matrice100 #matrice600 #maplife #cartography

20.01.2022 Now is the time to act on drainage and planning your major works and ground preparation for the 2017 spring cropping season. Drainage planning from drone captured digital terrain models with a sub 10cm accuracy is a key step in the planning phase. Using Drone AG data and a qualified drainage specialists you can get the best bang for your buck with drainage and save big $ testing ideas and forming a solid plan of attack before its too late for this year. Simulated raised bed ...layouts, surface drainage impact, slope gradients of beds or cut and fill modelling are just part of the options. Have a chat to us before you have another season of "we put them where we thought we needed them" and join our growing list of happy clients. Dont be fooled by "free data" and hype trains or marketing spin, if you dont want to use us at least ask your supplier for these three things before you engage them. 1) Do they have clients you can talk to or visit about what they have implemented on their farm and are they happy? 2) Do they use RTK or PPK GPS and what is their accuracy? 3) Is the photogrammetry work done in house or online and how is it checked for accuracy and client specific requests such as hedge smoothing etc? Before you invest heavily in drainage using a drone or drone data please give us an email or call and a chance to demonstrate what we could potentially achieve for your business. 20.01.2022 Kyle and Anton are off to Russia to map mineral resources with drones. Its the equivalent of trying to map the back of Mt Wellington from the waterfront and flying all the time just above the tree tops! Good luck guys!!

20.01.2022 Sending the #M600 off to work with the clock of a button. #djiglobal #matrice600 #dronepilot #drone #droneoftheday #takeoff #farmingtas #dronelife

19.01.2022 Drone Ags work on drainage is really starting to turn heads globally. Will is heading back to New Zealand again this year to present a key note address on the ways drone data can be put into real use on the ground and actually drain a paddock in a cost effective manner. Last month he presented on behalf of Monsanto and Seminis about the practicalities of drones for New Zealand Onion growers. http://www.landwise.org.nz/category/drainage/

18.01.2022 Happy customer checking out the M600. This machine smashes out the hectares and its nice having 6 motors with all wedge tailed eagles and angry plovers getting around! Ups your survival chances compared to a quad. #m600 #matrice600 #djiglobal #dronelife #dronepilot #droneoftheday #instadrone #thedroneu #dronestagram #drone #dronedaily

18.01.2022 Been gathering a few sheep with the drone. Works well

17.01.2022 Some very impressing flying of a Phantom 4 in the southern ocean!

17.01.2022 A good little read on precision Ag data and some of the realistic uses of the data. Biggest point most people dont understand with PA and variable rate data is often there is no point focusing on the weakest areas of the fields to lift an average yield when they are in fact producing close to their maximum and its the middle ground that you are in fact trying to lift to its full potential. So many people get hung up on trying to get the poor ground up to the average at the cost of the majority. Sometimes a bit of drainage or strategic fertilizer might do it but layers and years of data start to show you often its already reached its potential.

17.01.2022 This is a good read about some of the errors in photogrammetry and volume calculations. We strongly encourage anyone thinking about buying their own drone and expecting to do drainage planning and prescription mapping work themselves to have a read of this post. Have a look through the archive before blowing the money as this chap is a great resource. Gathering useful drone data is a specialised job, just because you can shear a sheep doesnt mean its smart to shear your entire mob. Using a team approach and dedicated operators often gives better results faster and with less frustrations.

16.01.2022 Mapping poppies for crop health in the NE of Tasmania. Its awesome seeing the agricultural landscape having such a good season despite the hard start.

15.01.2022 Off to map poppies again tomorrow and have a go at yield estimations. These are Drone AG go owners Wills crop, any guesses at the tons of capsules per hectare?

12.01.2022 First launch today of many! The wind is howling this morning #farming #precisionagriculture #precisionag #farmsmarter #uav #agricultureaustralia #drone #flyingwing

11.01.2022 For many jobs its just not worth the risk.

09.01.2022 Just enough fog to keep us grounded :-(

09.01.2022 We dont just do AG flying. We also have a videography side which is what our Chief Pilot Kyle and Locky spend a lot of their time flying for with the Hype TV crew. Here is some of their work showcasing Amazing Tasmania.

09.01.2022 Hopefully a few of you are getting some drones from Xmas and here are some good operating tips from our safety regulator. Merry Christmas everyone.

06.01.2022 Hard to beat an early start and the epic sunrises! 600ha for drainage and farm planning today.

05.01.2022 This is pretty damn awesome

05.01.2022 Another launch and another mapping mission. This time we are mapping a flood plain with lots of vegetation and areas to smooth to assess the impact of levee walls through flood modelling from the base map to design a new levee system that keeps both sides of the river protected.

05.01.2022 Another day done in the random life of Drone AG. Mapping and presentations to farmers all day are best ended with a paddock beer!

03.01.2022 Dear customers, our internet domain provider (Webcity) is currently experiencing connectivity issues which has affected our emails and web site. Will advise when we are back online.

03.01.2022 If you own a drone and getting paddocks flooded right now then get out and fly as soon as the sun comes out! Get it airborne! Get out there and take pictures of where the water is going, where its sitting and whats dry! You wont get a better time to do it! If you want to then take it further and do some proper drainage planning then shoot us a message but this is the first step! GO FLY! Share this post around so everyone who is getting dumped on can get motivated to fly!

03.01.2022 Will finally got to have a fly of the #dji #Matrice600 and doesnt he look happy! #drone #droneoftheday #dronepilot #dronelife #precisionagriculture
