24.01.2022 K I S S... KEEP IT SIMPLE, STUPID! Lippy is hands down one of the most toxic things in a womans house or make up bag.... and the fact we use it on our lips means we practically eat it. Yep, so that means thousands of toxic chemicals straight into our digestive system every day and you know what? The coloured ones and even the balms and glosses are toxic AF, but dont even get me started on the ingredients used in plumping versions Oh, and you know what else? Its one of the most ridiculously easy swaps to make... so lets do this! 5ml roller bottle (bigger or smaller if you wish) organic vitamin e oil couple of drops of dTERRA peppermint oil voila! Thats it!! kissable lips without the chemical shit storm, yes please! Peppermint is one of the dTERRA oils which is suitable to be taken internally (always check the label for for flavouring use), plus the vitamin e is ridiculously glossy and nourishing for our skin, including lips. It serves as an antioxidant and is also incredible for protecting the cells from free radicals, and damage! Seriously, you can thank me later

24.01.2022 Hands down, this is the most versatile DIY I have and I wont go without it! When people ask me how to get started with green cleaning, I usually make sure theyve got a multipurpose spray option, a glass cleaner, and this cleansing paste. Because, really, you need little else! Super easy, suuuper cheap and the best bit? Super bloody effective! One thing I can assure you is I will never ever ever use a product that doesnt do the job. I am just too busy for something ...half assed. So, thats my promise to you: Low tox or not, its gotta work!! WHAT YOU NEED: A glass jar (I like one with a wide opening so my hand fits in - mine is a repurposed tomato salsa jar!) 1 cup bicarb soda 2 tablespoons On Guard Cleaner Concentrate 1 tablespoons cool boiled water 10-15 drops of a cleansing essential oil - I love Lemon, Lemongrass, Purify or Grapefruit! Mix all the ingredients really well, and store in a glass jar, over time if it hardens a little just add a tiny bit of water. To use, simply add a small amount to a scrubbing brush or cloth and clean your area of need with smooth circular motions The On Guard Cleaner Concentrate can be substituted for Castile soap, but Ive tried both and personally prefer to use the concentrate. This works amazing on: Bathtubs Basins Kitchen skin Toilet Oven Stove top Its crazy how a few good staple low tox ingredients can come together and work so well! 22.01.2022 OUCH - Matts go to combo! Matts been baking for more than 15 years now, and is full of regret for now listening to the old guys when he was an apprentice and they warned him to look after his back! Its hard work all day every day and he gets serious back pain.. Today he came home SORE. His back was so painful he could barely get a decent breath in, and it was pretty scary to watch to be honest. ... He asked me for this combo. You read that right, he asked me !! Trust me, they (partners) often start as sceptics but its doesnt take long for them to get to this stage.... and ice blue (aka deep blue) is often one way to get them across the line. Think of this as a replacement for deep heat, tiger balm or even voltaren rub... only without all the toxic crap. Oh and it actually works! It doesnt give you that awful burn and feeling like you cant breathe, but its strong enough to properly ease discomfort. The oil comes in the top 10 and you CAN use a drop of it in some fractionated coconut oil, but this rub is totally worth the money! He pairs it with copaiba, helichrysum and Siberian fir.. all incredible for inflammation, pain, healing, relief, relaxation and repair!

22.01.2022 ARMPIT DETOX - have you done it? If not, are you in the I tried natural/low tox deodorant and it didnt work!! camp?! Okay.. Let me help! So, one of the biggest complaints I hear when it comes to natural or low tox deo options is that it didnt work, the sweat was still there and the odour was noticeable and/or embarrassing. ... Stick with me, here, because armpit detoxing is totally your first step ti fixing this. A couple of key points - WHY DITCH THE TOXIC SHIT! I am sure this doesnt need spelling out, but just in case! Toxic spray deodorants are SO dangerous and filled with absolute crap. Everything from preservatives, aluminium, parabens, artificial colours, petrochemicals and synthetic chemicals pack those cans and, in turn, clog the pores of your armpits. Yes, it means not sweating (sometimes, right?), but have you thought about the impact thats having? You have dozens of lymph nodes in your armpit area and sadly there are SO MANY medical research reports linking these sprays to things like the big C. SO, WHY DETOX? Detoxing your pits increases the effectiveness of natural deodorants. You WILL still sweat - but sweating isnt the problem! Its the toxin and bacteria build up in your pits that causes the stench, hence why we want to clear that! AND HOW? 1 Tbsp Bentonite clay 1 Tsp Apple Cider Vinegar 1-2 Tsp water 1 drop of oil of choice Mix together into a paste - note: use a glass bowl and a glass or wooden spoon. Metal should be avoided when working wit bentonite clay. Add more liquid if its too thick, more clay if too runny. Apply to both armpits and leave on for 5-15 minutes before rinsing. Some tingling sensations are fine (the clay brings the blood to the surface, and with it comes the toxins!), but if you experience any burning or stinging, then wash your paste off right away. HOW OFTEN? every day for 1 week then once a week for a month then once a month Detoxing your pits is a small self care action that makes such a big difference to how you feel, smell (ha!), and the toxic load your body is carrying. 21.01.2022 One of the simplest mum hacks Ive done since day dot is pack the nappy bag when we walk IN the door. Yes, you read that right. IN the door. Not when were juggling a zillion things and trying to get OUT the door. It keeps life easy and means you always have the ability to grab and go if you have a sudden need to be somewhere (emergencies are included here, but so is the opportunity you see to rush for a decent coffee in between kids constantly misaligned nap routines!).... For me, it means checking the basics like spare clothing is stocked and clean, some non perishable snacks for everyone, and nappies for both. And wipes. Dont forget the wipes!! We constantly restock this little container and keep it in our nappy bag for bottoms, hands and faces. I highly recommend it. Items also in my bag and not necessarily pictured: lollipops for toddler bribery, a spare t shirt dress for mum (IYKYK ) and every emotional support roller known to man because heck, who even braves leaving the house with two kids these days !? 19.01.2022 The easier you make it, the more youll use them! Seriously, your oils need to be visible. Ask any dTERRA user their thoughts on this and theyll agree youre so much more likely to get use from your oils if theyre visible, within reach and easily accessed. For us, it has to be as simple as possible. And that means having master blends available - ... I make some for sleep for the kids and for us, for the laundry, the kids play room and even for nice smells in the living area. Simply, I grab an old dTERRA bottle and add enough oils to make a blend and then pop it next to the diffuser. It means no excuses for not flicking on a diffuser each morning. With dTERRAs petal or lumo, it then means diffusing oils all day long in the space!

18.01.2022 Have you ever looked at the products on a baby bath wash? Have you ever considered what any of those 20-something-letter-long words actually mean? What those things actually ARE?! Let me tell you.. the research out there is astounding, and those big words can mean some pretty scary things. If you have The Chemical Maze app, pop them in. The information that comes up, the warnings that show, the fact many of them are BANNED in other countries.... all of this is very very commo...n. Yes, even with the good products. Even the ones the GP recommended we try! Both our babies are eczema prone. Beaudens skin has been perfect since we swapped to homemade bath wash, and the ONLY time Molly-Rose has been irritated is when her body was trying to tell us shes not been liking lactose in her (and my!) diet. I know every single product that goes into it theyre left squeaky clean but not dry, because the coconut oil leave a glossy, moisturised finish it smells incredible, and I can tailor it to their needs (we almost always go with lavender for sleepy vibes and Cedarwood for all the grounding vibes, plus its great on irritated skin!) its ridiculously cheap and a little bit goes a long way!! 16.01.2022 TUMMY TAMERS - Ouch! My baby girl is having a hard [well, sometimes its this.. sometimes quite the opposite ] time at the moment. Shes had all sorts of belly troubles - initially I put it down to adjusting to eating solids and having a formula bottle once per day (very normal for bubs to need some adjustment) but its gone a bit beyond that and our GPs started some proper investigations. Were looking into lactose intolerance (ever tried to catch the poop of a 7mo? ...Super fun ) and its looking like that or something else has paired with some pretty full on colic poor bubba! Of course it sucks, and Ill absolutely use modern medicine if and when the doctor thinks theres something that can offer her some relief, but for now Im so thankful that once again my mummas tool kit has options! Seriously, the emotional properties of them are mind blowing and I chuckle now when I think back to the fact I barely even CONSIDERED emotional support when I started using them! 16.01.2022 ANXIOUS POOCH Wanna know the most annoying thing in my house at the moment? If you guessed my husband leaving the empty toilet roll on the holder Ill give you bonus points, cos that IS nauseatingly frustrating, but thats not the answering I was looking for. ... I wish Ammo could understand Beaudens not hurt or angry at him, hes just a reckless toddler!! 15.01.2022 So many questions about helichrysum since I shared my stack spray on stories when Beauden fell off his bike. We call it the liquid bandaid because it is the best thing ever for nicks and cuts, particularly things like grazes, and shaving burn or cuts! When applied, it literally forms a little seal over the bleeding and Ive always found it stems the blood within a couple of minutes! Its incredible for healing and recovery, excellent for bruising and actually features in ...a heap of anti ageing products.. amazing for skin!!!! Its not cheap but its worth every penny, and the touch roller is new to AU and NZ and already comes diluted with fractionated coconut oil! Add it to the Wishlist. For Beauden, I further dilute and keep this in the pram bag because the pram is almost always at the same location Beaudens bike is!

14.01.2022 Have you ditched the antiperspirant yet? Seriously. If you havent googled why aluminium filled antiperspirant deodorant is irresponsible and shouldnt be legal, then please do! I dont often get on a lecture high horse about things because Im a big believer in the you do you mindset, but MAN! Antiperspirant deodorants are in a league of their own and the medical research linking them to some horrific and tragic health conditions are clear as day. There is no way they shou...ld be sold. Anyway, the good thing here is you have options!!!! purchase a low tox and clean deodorant like doTERRAs Balance deodorant or some other brands like No Pong, Aesops or Black Chicken. use a swipe of an oil like tea tree, Balance, Hinoki or Manuka straight to the pits. Youre going to want to make sure youve done your detox if this is your method! OR, you can: DIY your own deodorant paste like the one Ive shared here. All it is is Shea Butter, Coconut oil, arrowroot powder and essential oils. Heres where you can choose - Either add 10 drops of chosen oil to your paste and use as normal Or make the paste neutral and add a single drop of oil to a swipe of the paste each day as you go to apply it!! 11.01.2022 TAKING OILS INTERNALLY - Yes! Many (but not all) of doterras oils can be taken internally but its SO important to know your stuff - WHY DO IT?... When an essential oil is ingested, it is transported through the gastrointestinal tract, directly into the bloodstream, where it is then carried throughout the rest of the body. HOW? There are several ways you can take oils internally A single drop in a glass of water In a slightly cooled coffee or tea - remember adding oils to hot temperatures can alter/decrease the properties Placing a drop under the tongue/direct into the mouth e.g. On Guard in a teaspoon of honey In cooking and baking - either a single drop, or try the toothpick trick! Pop the toothpick in the top of the bottle and then swirl through your dish for a more subtle addition of flavour (I do this with Oregano because its strong AF!) In supplements - doterra has a range of supplements and beadlets that are excellent quality and easy to take In a veggie capsule - add drops with a dash of olive oil and take like a normal capsule/tablet IMPORTANT: Always consider dosage and consumption levels (read: dilution) on an oil-by-oil basis. 07.01.2022 ANGRY SKIN!?- this is the balm you need! Every now and again I come across someone with a really aggressive, angry patch of skin. Ugly, painful, itchy, smelly, tender, raw... theyre just some of the words that hit my inbox on the daily... My go to suggestion is usually this.. my angry skin balm..... Using the double boiler method, combine and melt together 1/4 c Shea butter 1 Tbsp coconut oil 1-1.5 Tbsp beeswax pellets Remove from the heat and allow to cool. Watch for when the skin starts to appear around the edges and add 1 Tbsp carrier oil like jojoba or sweet almond oil 5 drops vitamin e oil 5 drops each of as many of these oils as you like.. copaiba, cedarwood, Yarrow|Pom, frankincense, turmeric, lavender, Roman chamomile, rose, sandalwood. Set in the fridge for 3 hours (ish) before taking out and allowing to soften a little. At this point, go all out with the electric beater until its buttery and smooth! Amazing!! 02.01.2022 BUSY MUMMAS CLEANING HACK.. or maybe I should call this the LAZY GIRL METHOD Anyone else like me and decide to tackle a job like oven cleaning whilst also heading into witching hour with two kids whore resembling circus performances rather than children, a hungry husband, two nagging dogs, dinner prep underway and a lukewarm coffee only getting colder? CHAOS I tell you. ... Normally I would go for my DIY cleaning paste for a job like this, but Im all out and aint nobody got time for making a DIY right now! Another option is On Guard Cleaner Concentrate neat, but look, its been a while since this bad boy was cleaned and it needs some work! This is why I love DIYs. A good sprinkle of my DIY dishwasher powder, a thorough squirt with my multipurpose spray, lemon essential oil dropped onto the stubborn areas, a bit of a wait and then a wipe clean. Viola! That easy. Oh, and I could do it all while my children were around, and without fear of coughing up my left lung while doing it. Store bought cleaning products in general are bad, but caustic and potent oven cleaners are a dangerous chemical shitstorm and honestly should be illegal!

02.01.2022 TINY PEOPLE WITH BIG EMOTIONS - My god! What a day!!! Both my kids were losing it, and by the time Matt got home from work I was literally one seriously hot mess walking around the house I had a boob out from trying to calm the baby, the screaming baby was on my hip, toddler was awake and hysterical after his hysterical baby sister woke him from his nap, the dogs were anxiously laying in their bed too scared to move for fear the toddler was going to chase them, lunch was ...still all over the table and I couldnt even remember if Id brushed my teeth or the last time Id gone to the loo. C H A O S. Seriously!!! Matt did what he could to help (lets be honest, when mumma is in this mood NOTHING he could do would help poor guy!) and actually forced us all out of the house for a walk. Beauden burnt off some energy on the bike, the fresh air did me good, and Molly-Rose FINALLY had a sleep (in the pram). I got home and grabbed this combo for the living room diffuser. Balance - the grounding blend. Every household needs it. Every mother needs it! Its grounding, calming, soothing and comforting. Its also already diluted, so you can pop a drop straight on your wrists, or rub it through your hair as a serum! Wild Orange - a citrus oil which is both calming yet uplifting. 01.01.2022 What does a green cleaning household look like? Well, basically like any household to be honest!! I have started simple... the hand wash bottle here is repurposed from an old foaming hand soap wed purchased before my oils journey began, the On Guard pump is actually one that I purchased with the On Guard foaming hand soap (love this stuff!) BUT I dont use it for that.. instead, I use it for my foaming dishwashing foam, and the multipurpose spray is just a 250ml trigger b...ottle as I found the 500ml too tricky to manage (I have little hands!). My dishwasher powder lives in the white canister and I love @seedandsproutco brushes for ALL of our cleaning. As for under the sink? I always have 2 On Guard Cleaner Concentrate bottles - one is undiluted, and the other is diluted. A bottle of white vinegar is a green cleaning must! A cappucino shaker of bicarb infused with a cleansing oil like Lemon Eucalyptus is used EVERY DAY A reused 15ml Lemon bottle is repurposed (fill with a Lemon oil, white vinegar and water mix) as a spot cleaner/diffused cleaning spray My glass cleaner also lives in a 250 ml sprayer under the sink A few essential oils bottles are usually lurking - On Guard, Lemon, Grapefruit, Purify and Lemongrass more than likely! I open the cupboard and it smells divine and guess what? I dont even feel I have to put a child lock on the door because theres not a chemical in sight. I am so proud of the changes I have made, and I am so proud of the fact that I did it my way, within my budget and in my terms. For me, that was one at a time. What does it look like for you??
