16.01.2022 Hello everyone, It is with great excitement that Drouids would like to announce a modified return to training!!!!!! When: Thursday 25th June... Who: under 12 and under 15 players Time: 5-6pm We would like to get the ball rolling so to speak . So at this stage our juniors will train and other teams will resume after the holidays. Some announcements will be made about what hockey May look like on return and these should follow in the next few weeks. We would love to see as many players on Thursday as possible. To ensure we are following guidelines everyone needs to be aware of the points below; Hand sanitiser will be provided and asked to be used upon entry/exit to field if any player or parent is feeling ill or not well in anyway, we ask that you stay home and avoid training. Spectators will be limited at training Toilets and clubhouse will be closed unless urgent. Finally thank you for everyone’s patience during this interesting time and although there is still no guarantee of a season I’m sure a few people would just enjoy having a run around. It will be great to see all our juniors on the field and happy to chat further if anyone would like. Regards, Nathan Furphy Drouids Hockey Club= Regards Nathan Furphy [email protected] 0448377044

06.01.2022 An email has just been sent out via the Drouids email List. Contact me if you do not receive an email and I will add you name to the database :-) Hello Drouids, I hope that everyone is well and has managed through these different times. As you are probably aware hockey had been put on hold and it is still uncertain what this season may look like if at all. However there are a few things that can start to happen within the club and on the fields.... I know that most of you will be missing the cold Saturday mornings and wet training nights but on the other hand some of you may be keen to get out for a run. Although the season is not guaranteed and a format is still a long way off the Clubs have been given approval, with conditions, to return to training. So before the Drouids committee move forward from here we wanted to put the feelers out to see who is interested and in what capacity would people like to commit to coming back to Hockey. A few key points At this stage there is not guarantee that there will be any competitive hockey for the season. Extra support will be needed to help with strict group management protocols. Training will be Non-competitive, non contact and social distancing will still need to be followed. (modified training drills etc) Two groups of 20 are permitted at opposite ends of the field with an exclusion zone in between. Also to begin to train all players will need to be registered with HV, which unfortunately is out of our hands and has only slightly changed. https://mailchi.mp/1bef64a8fe28/back-to-hockey-in-2020

05.01.2022 Drouids Training is cancelled for the next two weeks and will resume back after the school holidays, hopefully . In the meantime there is nothing stopping you working on skills and fitness. Fitness is a big part of the game of Hockey. Why not go for a run at your favourite park. Do not lock yourself indoors, getting out for a walk or run is so important for your physical health as well as your mental well being.... I know I could definitely do with a run. We will just play it by ear and see what happens next. Thanks again all See more
