23.01.2022 We did this in stages. First a basic 5kW solar install. Then we installed a Green Catch Hot water diverter, then we installed the Tesla Powerwalls, then we added another 5kW. Now we have full house backup and can run for days without grid power. The Teslas have us running "self powered" they call it for about 99 percent of the time year round. Keep in mind we are heating a 6000 litre 6 person swimming spa to 38 degrees which is an enormous electrical load. In summer we could flick off the main switch....but why not enjoy the higher feed in rates, because after my usage is covered and the hot water is heated and the batteries are full by mid day, I can always export all that over generation that my system produces and end up with my bill in credit.

23.01.2022 A North and East facing 6.6kW solar system looks nice on this federation style home. So too will the electricity bill. After assessing the households usage and getting them on the right plan, I anticipate this homes bills will be in Credit. The east roof of this home could not accomadate all the panels so the rear verandah has been used with the help of a few tilt panel kits.

18.01.2022 Our inverter is still in the top 5 list of 2020. its been in the list for years now. I see solax has dropped off and been replaced by ABB. Zeversolar has disappeared.

18.01.2022 I have been itching to get an electricity bill since my solar upgrade. As I have not been heating the spa obviously through summer and with summers better generation it's a huge credit. WHACKO! $528 BUCKS. I am very pleased

14.01.2022 The Tesla app showing a perfect winter day. Running the house, charging the batteries, exporting to the grid, and heating the spa, it's even showing the catch power heating the hot water with a touch of export power and then later after showers heating the hot water from batteries. Haha, for us solar passionates, it's a beautiful sight.

12.01.2022 Just for everybodies information. Some retailers are getting sneaky. Origin is now restricting the solar export that they will pay for daily. Meaning whilst they restrict your credits for solar, they are still receiving all you export to the grid. They can advertise an 18 cent feedin, but not tell you its actually restricted to 8kwh/day. AGL give you a full 21cent/kwh FIT thats unrestricted so i am recommending AGLs solar savers plan at the moment, its got slightly better rates as well.

11.01.2022 I actually look forward to getting my CREDIT electricity bills. This one was just received yesterday. We achieve this result for many households even without spending money on batteries. My last bill was a summer credit of $528 ! Why the difference in the size of credit this time, well we run a big spa which uses a lot of power and autumn winter and spring produce less generation than summer. So i do expect less credit in these months. Cheers

10.01.2022 Here is a nice setup. Hybrid Inverter with LGchem Battery. Provides full house backup, grid usage offset, and export to grid credits, via the Feed In Tariff.

09.01.2022 These fires are horrendous! I cant help but think that science and Engineering have delivered us clean solar power which can deliver more than enough for each household straight off their own rooftop. The government have given solar rebates that give you this very power for half price. Most of our clients learn how to use electricity wisely and generate enough power to supply the house next door as well, and for doing so they get a credit bill via generous Feed In Tariffs! Seriously how better can "PEOPLE POWER" be used to burn less carbon than to put solar on your own roof? If done right it gives a better return than money in the bank at the moment.

06.01.2022 Oh, bother. Even with all the solar and wind farm issues you maybe still buying corporate electricity. Do it yourself, and stick solar on your own roof. Haha, kick them to the curb!

03.01.2022 I have just done a job for a community service. Some of their solar had not been approved, It wasnt getting feed in Tariffs and their meters had not been done. Please choose your solar installer carefully. You do not want to miss out on 6 years of solar FIT !! Then have systems danger tagged out and turned off, by the distributor as being unsafe to boot. Rest assured its all getting sorted properly.
