22.01.2022 Hi DRPS Family, Just a quick update The new arrangements for schools in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire are as follows: 1. There will be five pupil-free days from Monday 13 to Friday 17 July for all students except for the following: Students enrolled in Years 11 and 12... Students in Year 10 enrolled in a VCE study, for VCE lessons Students enrolled in specialist schools The new arrangements are designed to give our health experts additional time to assess the situation. I know that these are challenging times, however, these steps have been put into place in order to protect the safety of all of us. I will receive more information from the department later this week, so until then please continue to have a break and we will be in contact shortly. However, at this stage, we have no new information and are still waiting for official advice from the department. 21.01.2022 We would like to wish all of our DRPS family good luck as we start our next round of flexible and remote online learning tomorrow. Please remember there will be ups and down, so feel free to reach out to your childs teacher, Shaun or myself if you have any concerns or questions. 20.01.2022 Today we recorded our highest ever number of COVID-19 cases, 288 confirmed, which highlights the importance of the Governments decisions and the need for all of us to do our part. As the Premier and Chief Medical Officer says, the safest place for all of us at the moment is at home and those of us that can stay home, must stay home!. While we are still waiting to receive further advice from the Department, we would like to provide you with some information so that you can make plans for next week. We also understand that our students will be disappointed that they are not able to see their friends face-to-face for a while. However, this is what we must do to keep safe and stop the spread of COVID-19. 15.01.2022 Some of you may have noticed we had a surprise visitor this afternoon Josh Bull, Member for Sunbury, came to give us some very EXCITING NEWS. Josh announced that Diggers Rest Primary School will receive $3.2 million dollars to upgrade and modernise the school, including the Administration Block. We are a fantastic school with beautiful grounds and classrooms, however as our numbers increase we are finding spaces are limited. These funds will allow us to upgrade our facilities so that we can continue to provide a high quality education for all our students. What a fantastic way to finish the year off! Thank you Josh Bull, James Merlino and the Andrews Government - from all the staff, the school council and the wonderful students at Diggers Rest Primary School.

14.01.2022 We have received some information that TheirCare will be able to provide Pupil Free Day supervision for those students who need it tomorrow. If your child already attends TheirCare they will be notifying families shortly, otherwise please contact them directly to make arrangement. From Wednesday to September 13, TheirCare is only able to provide care for permitted workers and vulnerable children (the Premier will define permitted workers today). 09.01.2022 DRPS FAMILIES - Please make sure you log on to Sentral to see our latest update

09.01.2022 We know everyone wants to get back to their normal lives, however, we have not been able to see the results we want over the last couple of weeks. For this reason, the Premier has announced tighter restrictions to slow the spread of COVID-19. In regards to our school, the Department will be releasing more information over the next couple of days, however we wanted to highlight the following: * Flexible and Remote Online Learning (FROL) will continue for our students and will ...mostly be in place for the remainder of the term * Monday the 3rd of August will run as planned * Tuesday the 4th of August will be a Pupil Free Day * FROL will recommence Wednesday the 5th of August * On-site supervision will continue to be offered, however this process will be tightened and strictly limited to students whose parents are permitted workers and vulnerable children. On-site supervision for Monday will be run by a CRT. Thank you to those parents who have already withdrawn their children from care this week. If you need any more information about on-site care login on to Flexibuzz. Please remember each decision is made with everyones best interests at heart. We will get through this, we just need to continue to work together and do everything we can to follow the recommendations that have been given to us by the Chief Medical Officer, the Government and the Department. 08.01.2022 STAGE 4 RESTRICTIONS RETURN Dear DRPS Families, The Premier has just announced that from 11.59pm on Friday and for five days, Victorians will only be allowed to leave home for one of the four essential reasons. These are for work, for food and supplies, exercise and caregiving. The Premier also announced that Schools will be closed Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I know a lot of you have questions however, we have received this information at the same time as you and are wait...ing for further advice from the Department. In regards to pick up this afternoon, I strongly encourage all parents to do this promptly, wears mask and social distance.
