Although these images are only 3 months after his procedure, his scars are looking good and the shape of the ear is back to normal. 17.01.2022 This lovely 63 year old female presented to me wanting a breast reconstruction following a right mastectomy for breast cancer. I used a DIEP flap to reconstruct the right breast, followed by a second operation to touch-up her belly and breast and reconstruct her right nipple with an arrow flap. 10.01.2022 Patients can teach a doctor many things. Here is something I have learnt this week from my wonderful patients: prior to going in for breast surgery, braid your hair in this double Dutch style so it can remain in place for a couple of days to weeks without having to wash and tie your hair up post surgery. This means you don’t need to take special care of your hair following your surgery. Brilliant.

10.01.2022 Tuberous breast deformity is a developmental problem of the breast comprising of: 1) Widening of the areolar of the breast 2) Herniating of breast tissue into the areolar 3) Elevated inframammary fold 4) Commonly assymetrical breasts in shape and volume.... Often this can be corrected with a combination of fat grafting, breast implants and areolar shape and volume correction. This patient did not want implants. She is six months following correction with nipple-areolar reconstruction and fat grafting to each breast. 09.01.2022 Hei Matau: This is a pretty amazing gift from a wonderful patient who I operated on 6 weeks ago. Her grandfather carved these and she gave them to me as a gift. These are carvings done in whale bone and wood that are shaped like a stylised fish hook. They are traditional to the Maori people of New Zealand and represent good luck and safe travel across water. My daughter recognises them from Moana as Maui’s hook and is in awe of them. ...
