18.01.2022 Today was an exciting day! I had a home visit for a labour induction with a woman who was 38 wks pregnant and is scheduled for a chemical induction tomorrow morning. Her baby was very large and she needed to be induced chemically to have the baby as soon as possible. I rocked up with my arsenal of tricks and got to work. I started by doing some deep acupuncture on her lower back and then used some distal and contraindicated points for maximum effect. I also used scalp acupun...cture as an adjunct to augment the treatment. I then used some very strong electro-acupuncture to make sure the patient had the best chance of going in to labour. After a short time the baby started moving around a lot and the patient started showing signs of going into the early stages of labour. I received a call two hours later from her to say she was on her way to the hospital! She had tried three other Drs previous to my treatment today and I was chuffed with the result. So was she! She was extremely grateful and thanked me for my professionalism and confident approach. Acupuncture and all it entails is excellent for labour induction & also a host of other OB/GYN conditions. If you would ever like to discuss your pregnancy or fertility problems please get in touch. Dr Sally Uebergang. 0428495643

17.01.2022 Today I had a labour induction home visit. It was very exciting! A woman presented as 38 wks pregnant with an extra large bub on board. It was her first child. Her Obstetrician didn’t want to wait any longer for her to go into labour due to the babies size. She was scheduled for a chemical induction tomorrow at 7am. She had tried 3 other Drs before she gave me a call. None of them had been successful at getting the baby moving. ... I reassured her I would get the job done and sprung into action. I used very long and thick acupuncture needles in her lower back, and also needled some other contraindicated points for pregnancy. This means points that are not allowed to be needled during pregnancy under any circumstances. If needled they can cause miscarriage, early labour or bleeding. We have to be very careful when there is a baby on board. I also used some scalp acupuncture and electro acupuncture to get the baby moving. I used very strong stimulation and had the electro acupuncture turned up very high to provide a constant strong stimulation to the needles. This feels like a strong pulsing feeling. It is not usually uncomfortable, but for labour induction you have to go hard. The patient was very comfortable with me as her Dr but I’m not going to tell you she wasn’t in pain. She had a very high pain threshold which was ideal for the consult. The treatment is uncomfortable but women understand the process and are willing to try anything to avoid a chemical induction or c-section. The baby started moving a lot, especially when I stimulated the lumbar & scalp needles. We applied strong stimulation for an hr. When the consult was over I assured the patient she would go into labour before the scheduled chemical induction in the morning and that I thought she would only have to wait a couple of hours due to the increased movement of bubs. I received a phone call within 45 minutes & she was on her way to hospital! She was very grateful to me and I wished her luck. It was all very exciting! Not all acupuncture labour inductions are this important to get an immediate result. This woman had run out of time so the strong intervention was needed. Some women prefer to have 3 or 4 sessions and have a less invasive treatment. This allows them to relax more and the stimulation can be much more mild. I also treat breech presentations and it is usually pretty successful unless the baby is very large and literally doesn’t have enough room to move around in the womb. If you ever have questions in regards to options for your pregnancy and labour please feel free to give me a call. I also treat infertility and gynaecological conditions like period pain and profuse bleeding. Chinese Medicine offers so much in its scope of treatment of OB/GYN disorders. It’s truly amazing! 09.01.2022 Some of my patients are really struggling with with hay fever at the moment. Typical for this time of year. But don't despair - there are ways of managing the condition. Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine work very well for allergies and I have had much experience treating it. Acupuncture is very good to stop the runny nose, itchy eyes & throat, tiredness and other associated symptoms. Give acupuncture a go! I will reduce your initial consult by 50%! Give me a call today to discuss your condition and needs. Regards, Dr Sally Uebergang.

07.01.2022 Hi everyone! At the moment I am really concentrating on my postgraduate study and going to several conferences and seminars. This is very exciting to me as I am somewhat of a nerd and love what I do for a living. Some of the topics that are pertinent at the moment are neurological diseases and pain syndromes. I am also attending seminars on lumbar pain / neck pain and the distal acupuncture points that can be used to treat these conditions. Distal points are points that are ...NOT located near the spine, lumbar or neck region and are most likely to be located on the arms and legs of a patient. Very effective treatment! I am also attending an orthopaedics examination seminar later in the month which will be a fantastic body of knowledge to add to my successful practice. A practitioner can never study or attend too many of these events. To keep up with the latest information it is just a vital tool. I will be doing my second medical internship next year in China. I will be working in the emergency room and the intensive care unit. This is the conclusion to my postgraduate study program on scalp acupuncture. Stay tuned as I fill you in on my upcoming conference knowledge! Regards, Dr Sally Uebergang 0428495643.
