This patient was previously only offered the option to undergo both upper jaw expansion and lower jaw surgery to correct her smile. 14.01.2022 Fixing overseas dental work. Let me just start by saying there are good and not-so-good dentists everywhere. You should always do your due diligence and find the right dentist for you (just like finding the right doctor) and if possible, check out their work. However, many times, especially during this COVID period, I have had to fix overseas dental work that was potentially not done to a standard that I would personally be happy with.... This patient went overseas recently, and decided he would also get veneers done whilst he was there. The process was simple, only took a few days (which can sometime be the main issue), and he was ecstatic with the result. Fast forward a few months, and the top photo is where we found ourselves. Unfortunately the original dentist over-drilled the original tooth for a veneer, and didn’t take into account the patient’s bite. You can also see a lost veneer on the top left of the photo too. A very hard case as matching just one single front tooth can be so so difficult. This patient had wanted straight, white teeth her whole life, and was able to let me know exactly what she wanted in terms of shape and colour, as we transformed her smile in just 2 visits!
