10.01.2022 Lets talk about dry skin as the seasons change... During winter, most of us spend our time in heated homes and workspaces. This can cause dry and itchy skin, irritated eyes, and dry sinuses. As we transition into spring, skin irritation increases (especially for those of us with hayfever or allergies). So what are some tips to help address this? * Protect your skin - Antioxidants such as Vitamins C & E, and Niacinamide are key to protecting your skin from damage. Use a ...moisturiser and hydrating agents that minimise evaporation of water from the skin. Use a good lip balm to dry, cracked lips. * Fuel your body - Increase your water intake and decrease your consumption of caffeine and alcohol, as they may lead to dehydration. Make sure you have enough saturated fats (the good ones) and Omega 3’s in your diet - these are the building blocks of your natural skin barrier. * Pre-empt your allergies - Don't wait for your allergies to get bad before trying to treat; instead speak with your doctor about appropriate prevention strategies to decrease the risk of them flaring in the first place.
