25.01.2022 More than 3600 people are estimated to be diagnosed with Melanoma in QLD every year. We encourage everyone to book in for a skin check because when it comes to being sun smart, we can be complacent. Many of us grew up with the old slip, slop, slap slogan, but how many of us follow it, or the recommendations for skin screening?... Please call our friendly receptionists on 3252 7614 or book online at healthengine

24.01.2022 Something to share whilst going into the heat of summer..

22.01.2022 PRIVATE FLU VACCINES Private flu vaccines are now in stock - you can book an appointment now. If you don’t qualify for a government funded vaccine, you can get a private flu vaccine from us for $25 with a valid Medicare card and your consultation will be bulk billed.... What’s the benefit of having a flu vaccination performed in a medical centre rather than a Chemist? It is good medicine that you have your yearly flu shot administered at your GP practice as they have your medical history, can keep a record of your vaccinations, monitor any adverse reactions in a clinical environment and discuss any medical concerns with you in a private setting.

12.01.2022 A Heart Health Check is a regular checkup performed by your doctor. A Heart Health Check helps you to understand your risk factors for heart disease and estimat...e how likely you are to have a heart attack or stroke in the next five years. The most important part of this checkup is working with your doctor to manage your risk factors to improve your heart health:

01.01.2022 Rachael Chalmers 2 days ago 1 min read World Suicide Prevention Day 2019... Updated: 3 hours ago Today is *World Suicide Prevention Day*. Suicide and suicidal ideations are topics frequently discussed among colleagues in my profession - but I acknowledge that this is not necessarily something so openly discussed in other people's lives, despite impacting most people directly or indirectly in some. Suicide accounts for a third of deaths for people aged 15-34 (ABS, 2019) and we need to work together to support some of our most vulnerable members of the community. You don't need to be a professional (though this can be an important next step for support) to make a change in suicide prevention. For #WSPD2019#WSPD2019 Beyond Blue have developed this spread of warning signs to help recognise people at risk of suicide through simply listening out and checking in. It's a resource worth checking out. In Australia, we have a number of services to support people at risk of suicide - You can call them any time, whether you are the person at risk or a person who cares about someone at risk. My wish is that you take 10 seconds to add just one of these numbers into your phone today. Emergency Services (If there is an immediate risk of harm to yourself or others): 000 Lifeline: 13 11 14 Suicide Call Back Service: 1300 657 467 Beyond Blue: 1300 224 636 or chat www.beyondblue.org.au Acute Mental Health: 1300 642 255 Always remember - Break the silence; Reach out; Chat it out
