21.01.2022 Celebrating Christmas with Indie at her school concert followed by walk through of Xmas classroom explosion!

20.01.2022 Chiropractic is considered an essential service and you are allowed to travel to attend your appointments. The situation developed rapidly and like you we are figuring out the path as we go. For now, Monday the practice has been suspended as I (Dr Sue) work out childcare arrangements. As of now, Tue and Thu I will be in the Margaret River practice ready to assess and adjust . Things could change and as they evolve I will update on social media. ... In the meantime, breathe. Focus on what we can control, which is our response. Let’s respond with positivity and grace towards each other. Panic solves nothing and wreaks havoc on your nervous system. So, download insight timer and find a moment to switch your brain out of fight or flight. It is a friendly thing you can do for yourself and your immune system. We’ve got this. . . . . #margaretriver #perthlockdown #southwestwa #margaretriverchiro #margaretriverchiropractor #margaretriverwellnes #health #wellness #covidsucks #southwestlockdown

20.01.2022 Merry Ho Ho! Wishing you all a safe, happy, healthy & joyful Christmas season. I will be off to celebrate with family from 24th to 28th but back for modified schedule the week of the 28th to 2nd. ... January is looking a bit schedule strange for me as I tackle the lack of vacation care in the region. Apologies for the timing mess, I did my best to keep it consistent. The new school year in Feb has presented childcare challenges as well. So, from Feb 1 the schedule will change but an extra day will be added . There are some perks lol. All of this mumbo jumbo is reflected in the online bookings for the practice @bodyandspineco_au . Off today to enjoy a team lunch! Sure there will be laughs, wine, food and good times. Watch this space for the evidence!

18.01.2022 Merry Christmas! Don’t forget tomorrow I’m only in in the morning in Margaret River. Only a couple of spots left for regular standard visits. Back next week Tuesday with modified hours for the week. Check out online bookings for availability through the Body & Spine Co. Website www.bodyandspineco.com As amazing and magical as Christmas time can be it can also be stressful. Make sure you fill your own cup and don’t forget those things that help serve you and your health. Inc...luding making sure your spine and nervous system is rocking it the best it can. Let us be grateful here in Western Australia that we are one of very few places in the world able to celebrate as near on normal. Enjoy! You can thank my little miss for the little Santa craft .

17.01.2022 This MONDAY 22/2/21 Dr. Sue will have extended hours until 5pm (maybe longer if demand is there) at the Cowaramup practice. So, for all the regulars out there who couldn't get in due to the schedule change, this is a good time to pop in for an adjustment! Look forward to seeing you! You can book online at www.bodyandspineco.com or ring/SMS 0422551195 as there may be availability beyond what is online.

08.01.2022 BACK TO SCHOOL LUNCHES Hey parents! It’s that time again when we our kitchen bench is covered in bento boxes and water bottles! The kids lunches! Now this is not a beauty post of fancy cut sandwiches and veggies made into funny faces to look pretty on Insta. Rather, the basics of focussing on the fact that what the kids eat and drink during the day have a HUGE impact on their ability to focus, learn and absorb experience in the classroom. It also helps to minimise the aftern...oon slump. So, let’s get to it. A nice bento style box (I use Yumbox) with 3-5 sections. They have the various sections labelled for grains, dairy, fruit, veg & protein. I personally like to switch the protein and grains so protein section is the most substantial. All the time? No, because it depends on what is in my kitchen at the time. You know, because that is real life! High protein belly filling, long time source of energy options: boiled egg, left over dinner meat, sausages/sausage roll for picky eaters, meatballs with napoli sauce, nut free bliss balls (made with protein powder) etc. Grain section: sandwiches get a poor rep, but using high fibre whole grain (for those tummies that tolerate it) is a much better option than white bread. White bread releases sugar into the bloodstream very quickly so causes a sugar spike and ultimately a sugar CRASH. Resulting in moody behaviour and poor attention. So, cutting out sugar and sugary drinks is absolutely key. Fill those sandwiches too with quality protein like tuna or chicken and hide some veg or for the non picky a nice big bit of crunchy lettuce like pictured. Another great option is avocado as it is full of healthy fats which also help keep little active belly’s full. Fruit: fresh is best. Period. Canned fruit is sitting in sugar basically. Little bit size pieces are great, especially if your kids are like mine and seem to have allll sorts of wobbly teeth. Dairy: if your kids tolerate milk great, if they don’t there are many plant based alternatives. Yoghurt, cheese....easy options. Treats: I’m sure many teachers and schools now would prefer if you left the treats for another time. Is it absolutely necessary in their school lunch? Can it wait until after school? Can you add it sometimes...sure. Because you know....real life . Snack: many schools have a sip and crunch time. Focus here should be on fruit and veg options. Veg sticks with hummus. Apple slices with tahini. Apple and cheese. Bliss ball alongside some fruit. Drink: water. Period. Fruit juices and drinks are void of fibre and are basically spiking the blood sugar Have any fav lunch ideas you’d like to share? Mention them in the comments and any links. Parents helping parents create healthy kids .

05.01.2022 Update: I will NOT be in PHYSICAL practice at Body & Spine Co. this week due to lockdown restrictions to allied health practitioners. 02.01.2022 We had an amazing time away as a family at Fontys Pool in Manjimup this past weekend. Was nice to disconnect from our everyday and get out after the lockdown. Alby discovered a love for attempting to eat grass and leaves, the kids water logged themselves and we just juggled it all!
