20.01.2022 Thank you. Your appreciation means a great deal to me!

19.01.2022 When Autistic Advocates & Tony Attwood meet! 15th May 2019, Sheffield Tony Attwood A merry band of eight autistic advocates attended Tony’s Conference on Autism... in Sheffield yesterday & we put to him some of our counter views, arguements and explained why we were triggered by some of his rhetoric towards autistic people. Tony’s response? Educate me, I’m listening, correct me where I make mistakes in language & semantics Tony took the time to speak to us throughout the day, despite the hall being full of hundreds of attendees. He also answered our direct questions in front of the audience but was stretched for time. I took the opportunity to invite Tony Attwood onto Agony Autie where we could broadcast a live discussion into our differences, where we are both coming from and most importantly how to build bridges. Dr Kate Fox thanked Tony for taking on board the criticisms from the autistic community and for changing his language/references in areas. I felt humbled that, like any professional advocating in our name should, he was able to take on board our hard comments & not reframe it as a witch hunt or aggression. Tony in fact congratulated our efforts to form together & thanked us for asking the tough questions as in his words it’s You! It’s all about you! And I’m here to listen. I give you my word. I really look forward to our discussion and hope to eliminate barriers, stigma and myths formed within the medical narrative surrounding autism. I’m hopeful that Dr Tony Attwood could in time become our strongest ally and that he comes to understand our point of view, as much as we have worked to understand his. We have to try to communicate with professionals to help change the narrative surrounding autistic people & a lot of Tony Attwood’s work has contributed towards dispelling harmful myths. However bad habits are learnt and Tony conceded that since his training in the 70s, Autism has changed and still is changing - and with that there is always opportunity to learn new approaches. Expect live chat this June/July pending Tony’s schedule Thank you to my fellow incredible & admirable autistic advocates who work so tirelessly to change the pain we all went through & make it preventable for future generations to come; Shona Davison - Studied MA in Autism studies under Dr Luke Beardon Dr Kate Fox - Radio 4 show host, autistic stand up multi disciplinary performer Joseph Redford - Autistic Pride Alliance member & Advocate Kathy from Spectra Blog Melissa Simmons - Autistic Advocate Erin from Queerly Autistic Adrie - Eastbourne Autism Group Connor - Autistic Advocate Thank you for the last few days. 12.01.2022 A recording of a presentation on friendship and autism

10.01.2022 Information on our three presentations in London in January.

04.01.2022 This was recorded a few years ago and has a description of the stages of friendship and some strategies for friendship at each stage.

02.01.2022 I recently had the privilege of sitting across from Professor Tony Attwood ... one of the world’s leading experts in Asperger’s Syndrome (also known as high-f...unctioning Autism) ... a passionate and experienced Psychologist who has conducted countless research studies and helped hundreds of families just like mine over the last four decades ... and wrote my all-time favourite book on Asperger’s syndrome! I had so many questions to ask him to ask on behalf of hundreds of little super hero Mums, Dads and carers to ask on behalf of our daughter so that I can understand her better and be her super hero advocate Mum. We're excited to release this short 'sneak peek' of the interview with Professor Attwood. The full interview is not too far away and we hope it will open many hearts and expand many minds Jenna xo

01.01.2022 I am very excited to announce that Professor Tony Attwood, world renowned Autism expert and best-selling author has endorsed my last book; All The World’s A St...age; Unmasking Aspergers Syndrome. I am honored because he is a hero of mine! His speeches, lectures, and books have helped me to figure myself out, understand my autism, and not be ashamed or embarrassed of myself and the way my brain works. I am now able to pass this understanding onto other people. He writes; There are many autobiographies written by someone who has Asperger’s syndrome. Why is this autobiography any different? David Serpa describes the person behind the mask, the child, adolescent, soldier, entrepreneur and father. His insights into Asperger’s syndrome are exceptional and I particularly appreciated his conceptualization and advice. As I read his book, I frequently smiled and thought Yes, so true and made notes of his recommendations so that I can pass them on to those who have Asperger’s syndrome and their families. This autobiography is different in exploring contemporary aspects of Asperger’s syndrome and combining a knowledge of being a marine with the works of Shakespeare to understand Asperger’s syndrome.
