25.01.2022 I would like to introduce myself, as one of the many Dru Australia volunteers and yoga teachers. I enjoy sharing the knowledge and wisdom that I have gained throughout my yoga journey, with my family and friends. This journey started in Canberra and then it whisked me off to the UK where I finished my yoga teacher training course, meditation course, prenatal course and back care course (and I also volunteered at the London Dru office). During this time, I had an intense yoga... experience which included attending a number of events at the North Wales Dru centre. Coming back to Canberra I decided to deepen my yoga practice to get a better understand on the health and wellbeing connection between gut health and yoga and so, of course, I completed the Ayurveda course. My focus at present is to be the best person I can be and part of this is sharing with you the things I have learnt that are within my yoga tool kit. In my tool kit I have a number of, and regularly use, the Dru resources, such as Stillness in Motion, Dance between Joy and Pain etc, that many of you have and use in your yoga classes. My aim is to share with you regular tips, tricks and insights into the fabulous resources Dru has produced to broaden and build up your tool kit. I look forward to connecting with you through regular posts to strengthen your yoga experience. Peace and kindness Janette Dunn, Jayoga Dru volunteer Dru Products

25.01.2022 Huge congratulations to our Western Australia Dru Kids and Teens team extraordinaire--Diana B, Jenny G, Maz F, Pat P, Amy and Ann (recent DKT graduates) plus Nicky, who did great things with the WPF Footsteps for Peace, Claire, Janine, Lin, Lynne and Prajna supporting. Together they pioneered organising, prepping and teaching a Dru day workshop without a Dru core team member as WA borders still closed... How amazing was that?! Incredible bonding, commitment, creativity, effort, passion and love. So very well done. A joyous day spreading Dru light to many lucky families

22.01.2022 Ayurveda is an ancient healing science, handed down to enable us to live a long and happy life. Ayurveda is all about providing tools to create "Balance" in our lives. Are you:... eating the right food for your constitution? are you drinking the right drinks? are you doing the right exercise? are you thinking the right thoughts? The wisdom and practical tools Ayurveda provides can help you make the best decisions in any given moment with regard to all areas of your life. What does 2021 look like for you? Can you find balance with Ayurveda?
22.01.2022 When all is said and done, meditation is the answer to so many of our problems. The mind is the ground on which we create our lives - when we learn to still the mind, we find the inner clam allows space for our personal power to shine and our own answers to arise...
22.01.2022 Some years ago my teacher was guiding me in creating balance within my family. At that time there were some very interesting things happening for a couple of family members and I remember feeling rather concerned. His guidance was, when I do my meditation practice, to include them all, to imagine them sitting around me in stillness and ask that my practice help them in the right way. This was not only a motivator to do my practice but it brought me peace... and when I stopped worrying about them, they seemed to have changed! Funny that!!! We all know its not up to us to change people! It's up to us to change ourselves... its then we start to see through different, more peace FULL eyes.
22.01.2022 And another blast from the past! Monica teaching EBR 4 on the beach - and Chandra and Deb
21.01.2022 AYURVEDA WISDOM Did you know... Moving into spring, the Kapha season, we need lighter, drying, cleansing foods. In early spring, as days lengthen, temperatures rise and spring rains set in, kapha increases. Water and earth elements predominate in the environment and are reflected in our bodies, with increased fluid retention (water element) and excess weight (earth element). Our body shifts its strategy from building insulating fats to releasing them, in order to cleanse a...nd prepare for the warmer weather ahead. If kapha is aggravated, we may experience change-of-season flu-like symptoms and fatigue. Fat melts away from the tissues, carrying toxins into the blood, congesting the liver and causing lymphatic stagnation. We are drawn to choose a lighter, more kapha-pacifying diet with plentiful bitter, astringent greens which support the cleanse and spring feeling of becoming lighter and refreshed. A good reason to schedule a gentle detox at home! https://druyoga.com//aus-dru-yoga-ayurvedic-at-home-detox-

20.01.2022 Just to let you know that Andrew and our website team will be doing essential maintenance work, putting druyoga.com onto a new server. So from 10pm tonight you won’t be able to access your classes or resources for about an hour.... sorry! See you again soon!
20.01.2022 What is our purpose in life? And if we don't know it how can we discover it? The Bhagavad Gita has some answers to these great questions and Deb Ryan and Astoria Barr will be sharing this wisdom tonight at 7pm in their next online Gita lessons talk. Don't miss the opportunity to dive deep into the wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita and find out how it can relate to you. https://druyoga.com/au/events/aus-bhagavad-gita-lesson-2020
20.01.2022 Hot off the press! Awaken A simple guidebook to empowerment, a new book written by one of our very talented Dru teachers, Gini Eagle. This book is full of gems and really easy to work with! You can go from cover to cover for a full immersion or take a staged approach depending on the day/your needs/or your emotions. Or you can open the book with a question in mind and see what it reveals. As I flicked through the book, I found snippets of interest that caught my attention;... first the heart shaped stick figures, drawn by Gini herself caught my eye, they are simple and the way I draw very appealing and welcoming! These little characters drew me in and the first stick shaped drawing I focused on was of a person and a tree with the saying ‘I too have roots, I connect with nature’, plus on this page was a whole lot more information, stories and exercises to help me ‘connect with nature’ beautifully simple, yet with layers of detail to engage with as I wanted to. Each page I turned to had simple, relatable and actionable wisdom to share with me. I then read the Contents page to see what else might attract me to buy this book of course all 22 chapters appealed to me! The Foreword is written by Gini’s son (what a wonderful dedication for a mother to receive!), giving the book an authentic touch and enhancing the feeling of relating to Gini as a yogi and a friend who wants to share the wisdom she has received. I’m sold and I hope you are too. But wait there is more! There are also 22 colourful cards that replicate the artwork within the book, each one representing a chapter. A brilliant value add or stand alone self-empowerment tool for your own journey or to use in your classes. The book is on sale on the Dru Shop at https://druyoga.com/au/shop/books, for $35.00 plus postage and the cards are $22.00 plus postage. However, if you buy the book and cards as a set it is only $52.00 plus postage. Peace and kindness Janette, Dru volunteer for Dru products
19.01.2022 Did you know that practicing a dedicated time of silence every week can increase your capacity to listen and communicate more clearly? I know people that do one day a week silence, but you can choose an hour, a half day - whatever works for you. No phones, music, tv and speaking; just being silent... and present!
19.01.2022 A lovely time at the Dru CBR picnic! Adventures including rides on an electric scooter and a game called Kubb! Wishing one and all the season's best!
19.01.2022 Friday funnies! Remember to slow down!
18.01.2022 Good morning to you all, As a Dru yoga teacher, my passion is enabling people to become aware of their true self, so they can be the best person they can be. My post today is about an exciting challenge our senior Dru Director and beautiful Patricia Brown has invited everyone to undertake over the Christmas break. Patricia spoke about this at her recent Window of Wisdom No. 16 (https://druyoga.com//aus-wisdom-online-patricia-november-1) with the focus being on peace. It is... a very simple challenge that goes for 8 weeks and uses one of the Dru resources IMAGINE . World Peace. The beauty of this challenge is that you can spend as much or as little time on it and you can do it anywhere. For example, Week 2 is Calm Clear Mind and refers to being present. Week 2 Calm Clear Mind Be present. This week spend more time in silence and stillness. Relaxing your body and mind will allow you to see the bigger picture enabling you to ask the most important, fundamental questions: Who and I? and Why and I here? Monday For me, the present is merged in eternity. I may not sacrifice the latter for the present. Mahatma Ghandi. Today: share a few moments with someone close to you and simply listen, be preset and feel the transforming power of being in the moment. Tuesday The life that is unobserved is not worth living. Plato Today: contemplate this quote! Wednesday World peace and the peace of all thigs actually lies within the sacredness of this moment. Peace Formula Today: find three factors in your life that makes you stop and be present. It could be a piece of music, walking in nature or playing with your children. How easy is this challenge! As I said if you would like to join Patricia, me and other Dru members on this challenge get out your IMAGINE World Peace book and be ready to start on 30 November. Please email and register your acceptance of this challenge at [email protected]. If you don’t have a copy of the book, too easy just go, to the Dru Shop at https://druyoga.com/au/shop/books/imagine-world-peace and order it online $8.00 plus postage. Peace and kindness Janette Dru Volunteer Dru Products

18.01.2022 "Ama"... It's a simple word and the the most commonly spoken word in Ayurveda. Ama is the toxic waste produced by undigested food. And this time of year for some can be challenging as an abundance of food and over indulgence becomes the social norm. ... If we don't give our bodies the best chance at digestion, the build up of ama can lead to lethargy, weight gain, inflammation and a range of health issues. Some simple tips to ensure ama does not build in our bodies: foster a calm and stress free state to eat try to eat the main meal around midday eat warmed nourishing foods and drinks move our bodies after meals keep our digestive fire (Agni) strong So to keep our Agni strong and Ama at bay, we can all choose to be conscious of our food and lifestyle choices. Tune in to our bodies. Be kind to yourself and let your digestive light shine
18.01.2022 Happy Saturday! As we are approaching the middle of December, a time of the year that can be filled with love, fun and good times but sometimes also worry, stress and sorrow... i think it's important that we connect in with our inner peace, and find the stillness that is within us. As you may be aware the World Peace Flame Foundation has been 'virtually' walking around the globe since the 21st of September (the UN International Day of Peace) giving us some amazing peace acti...vities to try, introductions to some awe inspiring peace makers from all over the world, and also some really interesting fun facts from all the different global 'stops'. Here is one of the most famous peace makers the world has ever known, Mahatma Gandhi who reminds us all to "Be the change you want to see in the world". Please do enjoy the stories of the other worldwide peace makers (past and present) here: https://www.worldpeaceflame.co.uk//world-peace-walk-proje/ Have a beautiful, peace filled weekend See more

14.01.2022 In this fast paced world where almost everything is available in the blink of an eye, humanity is still in "seeking" mode! Looking for the next thing, the next experience, the next achievement. The objects of 'happiness'. But what if the 'next thing' is actually taking us away from our real nature and our ultimate freedom? Taking time to meditate is a true gift. Meditation helps us settle into acceptance of life and develops the capacity to be content despite all that goes on... in the world. It takes us more compassionate and kind. It gives us clarity and awakens us to our true purpose. Meditation is the pathway that connects us to all beings and brings peace to all beings. See more

02.01.2022 A Vision of a Peaceful Future On 31st July 1999 for the first time in history seven live flames, lit by eminent peacemakers on five continents, were flown by military and commercial aircraft to the UK, where they were united into one flame: The World Peace Flame. World Peace Flame monuments are now established across the globe, and their number is steadily increasing. Communities work together to design and build the monuments, which then become catalysts for collaboration in...volving all areas of society from local to national level. Our dream... Imagine if every man, woman and child in every nation and country, from every religion and creed, were united in peace. The World Peace Flame is a symbol of peace, unity, freedom and celebration. We believe in the essential freedom of the human spirit to create peace at any time under any circumstancesa view endorsed by the millions of people who have lit The World Peace Flame as a symbol of this dream. 01.01.2022 We could say 2020 was the year of Covid or the year of no toilet paper!!! But wouldn't it be better to title it "the year I learned... " Maybe it was about attuning to nature, slowing down, being more kind... whatever it was, how did you get there? What Dru Yoga or Meditation technique helped you the most? And how did it help you swim through 2020? For me doing the Prana Kriyas more than twice a day helped restore balance (a sequence we teach on the Meditation mastery course) and practicing the Hanuman sequence gave me the strength to be content with life as it is. We'd love to hear your story!
