25.01.2022 Love the close up action shots from the Ocean Grove crew!!!

21.01.2022 National President Report July 2020 Hi to all our marvellous members and volunteers and I hope this short message finds you safe and well. Our last season fell short and this season looks to be in jeopardy due to this hideous virus and state border closures. We hope that the situation is solved shortly so that we can continue with events and holding our National AGM in November, yet we will have to see what transpires, as it is currently on a day by day basis. We will keep yo...u updated if there are any changes to what we are proposing. It has been hard to keep up with what has transpired over the past few months, yet what is assured that we are going full bore with the establishment of our next new branch in Tasmania, hopefully in early February 2021. We will be holding a public meeting / level 1 training / invitational event on the same day with thanks to Ian Brettingham-Moore, Shaned Gaffney our local contacts and massive support from our Mornington and Ocean Grove branches plus the generosity of the Westpac Bank. All is looking good for the opening of our chilliest branch that I have already stated over a radio interview that they need to harden up, as I will be wearing board shorts to the first event. Unfortunately, many of our beaches, especially in N.S.W. have suffered sand erosion due to large seas and torrential rain and we hope that they are back in shape before the commencement of our next season. One of our old friends from the inaugural committee of Ocean Grove (Dave) is going through a rough time with his health and I and all the members of the D.S.A.A. wish him all the best. I wish to thank Daffy & Diana for their relentless support and dedicated work for the D.S.A.A., as I look forward to seeing you all over the coming seasons. Keep safe and well. Gary Blaschke , National President & Founder

19.01.2022 To all our volunteers, carers and participants, In light of current warnings and concerns regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) we have advised all branches to review their events from their own local perspective and to make whatever call they, as a branch, feel appropriate at this time as to whether or not their events go ahead. We want to make clear that we value the health and safety of all our our volunteers, carers and participants above all else and our branches will be stri...Continue reading

18.01.2022 Following on from our update this morning we can now confirm that all branches have cancelled their remaining events for the 2019-2020 season. Stay safe folks! All being well we'll be back for our 2020-2021 season and putting smiles on dials again.

05.01.2022 Welcome to the DSA family!!! #smilesondials

05.01.2022 To all our participants, carers and especially volunteers around Australia and New Zealand. Everyone is going through restrictions in everyday life due to the Corona Virus and the DSA is no exception. As our two nations combat the dilemma, we too have had to cancel many events, therefore restricting our ability to put smiles on dials. Our nations will eventually combat this hideous issue and we will come back even stronger in changing the lives of so many people. We may be cl...osing down events for the foreseeable future until authorities tell us it is safe to carryout our impeccable programs. Be assured that we are not going anywhere, only growing stronger, yet aware of the welfare of our supporters, being you and your friends. Our attempt to establish our nineteenth branch in Tasmania has been postponed until later this year, yet again we will put in the efforts to bring this amazing organisation to all Tasmanian’s with a disability wishing to have a go at surfing. Please take care and look after yourselves, as we look forward to a new and even more exciting 2020-2021 season. Until then stay safe. Yours sincerely Gary Blaschke OAM DSAA National President
