21.01.2022 We have movement! Further to our article of 7 September 2020, we can now confirm the Victorian Parliament has passed the new legal framework within which the State Government’s further changes to residential and commercial tenancy laws in the context of COVID-19 will operate. Once Royal Assent is obtained (expected within hours) we hope to see the new Regulations setting out how the revised system will work as soon as possible. 11.01.2022 Amended Tenancy Legislation now in force as foreshadowed by our posts this past fortnight, the newly revised legislation governing COVID-19 measures in relation to residential and commercial (both retail and not) leasing arrangements has now come into operation, commencing 23 September 2020. We eagerly await the new regulations that must necessarily follow.
