12.01.2022 Cairns DSMRA meet and greet night Saturday 1/2/20 6:30 pm at the Cairns RSL

11.01.2022 Back in 2001 was the beginning of Cairns branch of DSMRA. Calling for ideas and beliefs that trail bike riders could meet together on a regular basis to ride. To enjoy the trails and tracks in a legal and sustainable manner. DSMRA had branches in southern states and Cairns branch was established. Riders came from all surrounding areas with one travelling from as far away as Townsville. Shortly after the success of Cairns branch Townsville had there own. Over the years r...ides where generally on a monthly basis depending on permit access, support or weather conditions. Notification of a yearly ride callender was made so plan your regular rides. Events are over one or two days. Locations varied over the years due to changing ownership of land and access requirements with some continued today while others are no longer. Such locations like Black Mountain road, Cook town crossing, Yarrabah, Chillagoe, Maytown, Creb Track, Lava Tubes, Mt Mulligan, Herberton, Cardwell, Blencoe falls, many more spots of this great land.... Rides vary from intro to more challenging with a ride scale. Finer details of processes and info can be found on DSMRA national website at dsmra.asn.au This club is for the enjoyment of all capabilities as riding in a group which you follow the leader and the sweep can assist if you have any issues. Facebook Dsmra Cairns was initial page was sent up by Steven but now there is version 2 which is combination of Townsville and Cairns branches pooling the resources and stories with at this time of writing now approaching 1000 members. See separate information in posting and heading to direct you to the revised current facebook page. Many riders volunteer their time and effort to allow for continued events to continue to the success it is today. Ride groups numbers range from 10 to 100 with an average of 25-35. Keep on riding and will see you out on the trails. Richard 22/7/2018 See more
