10.01.2022 *** Information for interested Clients/Parents/Carers from Tony Piccolo MP *** My electorate office ( Light Electorate, Gawler) receives a number of enquiries about the accommodation options that are available for people who live with a disability. To help families gain a better understanding of the options available, I am arranging an information night for families in the Gawler/Barossa/Playford/Light Council areas. The purpose of the information night is to enable families ...to speak direct with accommodation service providers. I am inviting accommodation service providers who can provide their services in the council areas mentioned above, to have an information stall at the event. There is no charge involved. The event will be restricted to less than 15 stall holders, so it will be a case of first in, best dressed. (preference will be given to accommodation service providers who have a presence in the north). Carer and advocacy organisations will also be able to have a stall. The information night will be held on Tuesday 21st May from 6pm to 7:30 pm at Café Nova, 19 Murray Street, Gawler. Stall tables will be provided. Set up time will be from 5 pm. To register your interest in having a stall at the event, you need to click on http://www.tonypiccolo.org/contact and complete the enquiry form. Registration CLOSES at COB on Tuesday 30th April 2019. All people/organisations who register their interest will receive an email to confirm (or otherwise) their registration by Monday 6th May 2019 and receive further information about the program for the event. 02.01.2022 Some more breaking supermarket news this morning ... The Minister for the NDIS has announced that NDIS participants will now be given priority for home delivery... from supermarkets. From tomorrow NDIS participants will be able to order on line and have their shopping delivered to their door. All participants will be sent a code by text or email tomorrow. You can then order your shopping on line and enter the code when prompted. This is available for all Woolworths, Coles, IGA, Foodworks and Harris Farm supermarkets. This is available to ALL NDIS participants. If your child is an NDIS participant you may also use the service. There is more information here - https://www.ndis.gov.au//4703-priority-home-delivery-servi There are questions and answers here - https://www.ndis.gov.au/cor/priority-home-delivery-services Media coverage here - https://www.smh.com.au//supermarkets-set-to-prioritise-foo This is fantastic news for NDIS participants and their families. We have heard lots of stories about people having trouble with their shopping and this will really help. We hope this kind of assistance will be extended very soon to all people with disability, regardless of whether they are an NDIS participant or not. Please share so we can get the word out. Because everyone knows Tim Tams are essential in a crisis)
