Let's see if this can make our clinical photography in the consulting room even more impressive over the next few weeks. Check out this photo that I took of a water balloon exploding. This photograph was taken at 1/1000th of a second - this is 20 times faster than your eye can recognise an image.... 22.01.2022 Normally when I am in my consulting room I have no idea what is going on outside, but on Friday the rain decided it wanted an eye test. Thanks to everyone on Friday for putting up with the buckets. Making a positive out of this, it turns out our laser microscope has been sitting directly under a possible leak site, so with Christians help we re-arranged the consulting room this afternoon. Thanks Christian! There is still some decorating to go, so my apologies to patients... coming on Monday as we get all of the certificates, posters and artwork gradually back up on the wall. I hope that you all managed to stay dry!

16.01.2022 How was everybody's weekend? I spent Saturday in Perth giving eight hours of lectures on a specialised form of contact lens called a scleral contact lens. Scleral contact lenses can be used to restore vision in patients with eye diseases such as keratoconus, in patients who have had eye injuries, and for patients who have had corneal transplants. I had a great time at the conference, even though I had to take two transcontinental flights in 24 hours to get there and back to be home with my family on Sunday morning.
