Our primary focus at D & S Supplies is to maintain the health and wellbeing of the people, customers, business and communities with the guidance of expert health and government officials. We have advanced OH&S and business continuity plans which will continue to evolve. Our commitment to service and supply to our customers remains unchanged and we are ready to assist with your requirements. We have implemented the following hygiene practices to do our bit to help reduce the spread of Coronavirus. Barrier chains are hung across all entrances to show were customers and members of the community can stand to abide by the social distancing rules and minimise the risk of contact. Our office is quite small, and does not provide ample room to maintain social distancing. On arrival, we ask you wait at the barrier chains at the front of the building and wait for a staff member to greet you. All staff are being extremely vigilant with consistent washing of hands and sanitisation of surfaces including our eftpos machine, office desks, and door handles. All floors are being mopped with hospital grade disinfectant, as per our usual protocol. In the interest of health and safety, we ask that you do not present at D & S Supplies if you have ANY flu like symptoms. Likewise, staff will not present at work if they are unwell. The position offered will require a wide range of skills with a flexible approach. It is ideally suited to someone who is semi retired, has spent most of their career as a welder/fitter/turner/TA and would like to get their hands dirty on a few projects on a casual/on call basis. Skills preferred are fitting, welding, and turning, a proven ability for problem solving, go-getter attitude and ability to work with others. Minimum Qualifications: Work to a high standard of OH&S Ability to assemble, fabricate and weld Be competent in all or some of - MIG, TIG, ARC & OXY Ability to read and understand general workshop drawings General machining skills Able to work unsupervised and efficiently as well as in a team Be self-motivated and display a good work ethic Be responsible for own housekeeping Be available for hours as required.
