22.01.2022 Congratulations to Ava Currie on achieving her Australian Scout Medallion and Cade Currie for achieving his Queen Scout Award. Both of these were awards completed during COVID but unfortunately we were unable to have presentations due to restrictions. We are proud to have these outstanding youth in our group. They are both an inspiration to their piers but they are going to go on to achieve great things in life. We would like to also thank our special guests, Desley O'Grady ...Councillor Gladstone Regional Council and Kahn Goodluck Deputy Mayor Gladstone Regional Council, Bev Fellows - Life Member, Jeff Wilkinson - District Commissioner and Suzanne Neucom - Assistant District Commissioner and Life Member for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend the presentations. #ReadySetScout #scoutsqld /via Dolphin Sea Scouts - Scout Group: https://www.facebook.com/448704408899298/posts/1073506346419098/

14.01.2022 This weekend we hosted Jota Joti on behalf of Port Curtis District Scouts with the assistance of the districts leaders. But we could never have done it without the assistance of 2 local clubs and businesses. - Dreamtilt supplied our internet, which enabled the youth to play minecraft in designated scoutlink servers, talk to other scouts and leaders on scoutlink chatrooms. The fast reliable internet also allowed the radio club to hook their radios into the network. - The Gla...dstone Amateur Radio Club for coming and setting up the radios, teaching the youth about how the radios work and connecting them with scouting members around the world. Thank you again to all the leaders, youth and the service providors that made this weekend a great sucess. Hopefully post covid we can return to having it as a combined activity and not have to split it into alot of small sessions. We are already looking at stuff we can improve on for next year to make it bigger and better. /via Dolphin Sea Scouts - Scout Group: https://www.facebook.com/448704408899298/posts/1061127397656993/

08.01.2022 Thank you to Rotary Club of Gladstone Port Curtis for coming out to Lake Awoonga and presenting your safeTALK presentation to the leaders of Port Curtis District Scouts yesterday. It was a very informative session that showed our leaders how to identify people that maybe having suicidal thoughts, how to talk to them, and how to direct them to someone that can help. The information we received may one day help to save someone’s life and I recomend more people to do the coarse to remove the taboo around talking about suicide. #safetalk #suicideprevention #scoutsqld #readysetscout #callyamates /via Dolphin Sea Scouts - Scout Group: https://www.facebook.com/448704408899298/posts/1055211508248582/

06.01.2022 We would like to thank the Westowe Rural Fire Brigade for coming and talking to the cubs tonight. Teaching us about bushfire safety and showing us the cool toys they get to use. Even letting us try out the hoses and radios. The cubs all thoroughly enjoyed it and took away valuable life lessons. /via Dolphin Sea Scouts - Scout Group: https://www.facebook.com/448704408899298/posts/1069909283445471/
