25.01.2022 Fantastic news Dear members, coaches, supervisors and players, Confirmed DTBA will resume Badminton activities from 23rd November 2020 We will be resuming our badminton activities from the 23rd of November. Based on the guidelines from Badminton Victoria (BV), a limit of 20 participants per space will apply. A SPACE is an area surrounded by 4 walls.... As a result of our understanding of the current limitation, we are compelled to apply player limits to our session which is a maximum of 30 players per session. Hence, only 5 courts will be opened for play. It will be a first come first serve basis. No doubt some players will be disappointed due to our current limitations in playing numbers. Please follow instructions from our Supervisors who are also our COVID Marshalls Just a reminder, please bring exact change to expedite registration and lessen interaction with monies for our supervisors Hope to see you at the club Management Committee See more

23.01.2022 Dear DTBA Members, Monday Night Competitions (MNC) have been suspended until further notice. - DTBA Committee
22.01.2022 Dear Members/Coaches/Players First and foremost, our sincere apologies for not ‘keeping in touch’ since our initial lockdown We trust everyone is staying safe and keeping healthy... Most of us would never have thought that Victoria is the 1st and only state in Australia which experienced a 2nd wave of COVID-19 infection. Daniel Andrews was so cautious with the re-opening of the State at the end of our 1st wave of infection It is heartening to see the number of people infected with COVID-19 is slowly declining over the past 2-3 of weeks. There is much optimism that we should progress with the planned roadmap to recovery and all of us can then start our COVID normal lifestyle As to when we can resume playing badminton is really difficult to predict. Hopefully we can meet the State Government’s target of zero community transmission soon If the opportunity permits, we will consider operating the club throughout the Christmas/New Year period. Of course this decision will rest with the new incoming Management Committee According to our Club Rule, the club must conduct an Annual General Meeting no later than five (5) months after the Association’s Financial Year Hence the club must hold an AGM by the end of November 2020. At the moment, the propose date for our AGM is Friday the 27th of November The mode of how the AGM will be conducted will depend on what restrictions are lifted by then. The Committee’s preference is to conduct the AGM at the club’s premise It is great to have a chat face to face after such a turbulent 7-8 months for all of us Conducting the AGM via ZOOM is an alternative we will have to consider. We are sure a lot of us are now experts in using ZOOM, catching up with family members and friends Or it can be a combination of on-premise meeting and using ZOOM Your feedback/comments on this matter will be greatly appreciated Meanwhile, take care and stay safe Regards, Management Committee

11.01.2022 Fantastic news Dear members, coaches, supervisors, and players, DTBA will revert to pre-COVID19 players limits from 30th November 2020 Fantastic news. As most of you will be aware that DTBA is a member of BV (Badminton Victoria).... It makes absolute sense for us to be guided by our parent body. Click here for the latest update from BV received on the 26th of November 2020. Although not officially confirmed by BV yet, we are comfortable to recommend a ‘return to normal’ players limit pre-COVID19 period. This will be effective from the 30th of November 2020. Hopefully, we don’t receive any unwelcome news from BV regarding the interpretation of the latest relaxation for indoor non-contact sports. However, please adhere to all the advices that we have been reminded over the past few months e.g., physical/social distancing, stay home when not well etc. A mask must still be worn when not playing. The drink fountain can only be used for topping your drink bottle PLEASE DO NOT DRINK FROM THE FOUNTAIN We will be seeking clarification from YMCA with the usage of showers on the 30th of November. We will update our supervisors on this matter as soon we get a response from YMCA Other restrictions are still in-place and please be guided by the supervisor on duty who is also our COVID Marshall. Stay safe and vigilant Management Committee See more
