23.01.2022 VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED The DTC is having a working bee this coming Saturday July 25 from 9am. There is plenty to do, so any time you have to spare would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to seeing many of you at the club on Saturday.

23.01.2022 Another great Night of Quadrant Tennis on Tuesday. The current Gold court winner C. McCoy got pipped on the line by B. Hollister by one game. Has Chris got another Gold court victory in him this season? J. Sheers felt the pressure of going up onto the Gold court all night and was lucky to leave with an undamaged racquet. Speaking of damaged racquets, heavily favourite to win the 2nd court, J. Gleeson’s racquet felt the force of the fence, the ground and the net as he went dow...n without winning a set. S. Layton will finally get his chance on the Gold court next week how will he handle the pressure? The silver court was dominated by B. Green who didn’t say much but reminds us of a famous John McEnroe quote I will let the racquet do the talking. Court Winners were: Gold Court B. Hollister Court 2 - S. Layton Court 3 F. Ianuali & J. Plapp Court 4 T. Cook Silver Court B. Green Court 6 - B. Cawston & M. Clements Court 7 A. Ianuali Court 8 - M. Bright Full results and ladder below. Remember all levels accommodated for - so if you are interested in a hit contact Gray.

20.01.2022 Club Championships presented by Inspirations Paint Devonport Here is the schedule for the second last day of the club championships. Join us at the club for another big afternoon of tennis.

20.01.2022 Club Championships presented by Inspirations Paint Devonport Updated results and times - PLEASE CHECK TIMES FOR CHANGES. Luke Hollister makes another comeback to qualify for the Semi Finals and two A Grade matches come down to a match tiebreak.

20.01.2022 In a night that neither player took their chances due to the relentless determination and pressure by all players the spoils were shared between C. McCoy and G. Corbet on the Gold court. However, a quote by an unknown source was overheard in the club room after the match Chris felt the pressure more than anyone tonight and it showed. Some of us are doubting that S. Vaka actually took a break, but was secretly at a tennis training camp he made an absolutely mockery of some... quality players and took out court 2 with ease. The now ‘well oiled machine’ D. Robinson took out court 3 and looks determined to slide his way to the top. A. Mountney looked like he was still carrying a wrist injury but cruised in to win court 4. The silver court was dominated by H. Clarkson and wins the court for his first outright win. S. Cawston also gets his first outright win on court 6 and looks to challenge the Silver court next week. After having a few weeks off T. Fenton is back and proved too strong on court 7. Check out the full results and ladder below. Remember all levels accommodated for - so if you are interested in a hit contact Gray.

20.01.2022 DEVONPORT TENNIS CLUB CLOSURE Members are advised that the Devonport Tennis Club will be closed as of midnight Friday night (March 27). All coaching, rosters, clubhouse access and court hire will be suspended indefinitely. ... This decision has been made to protect all members of the DTC community and the general public, given the current environment. We believe that this is both the responsible and correct decision. While the club had stayed open until now, the increasing restrictions combined with the importance of maintaining social distancing and restricting movement as much as possible means that the club remaining open is not feasible. We hope that closing the club is a short term sacrifice that will benefit us all in the long term. We encourage all our members to make sure they follow all government recommendations and work together to help protect the wider Devonport community to ensure we can return to the safe environment that we all enjoy living and playing tennis in. The DTC committee will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will endeavour to reopen our facility for all to enjoy as soon as it is safe to do so. Yours sincerely Devonport Tennis Club Executive Committee

07.01.2022 McCoy takes gold again making it 2 out of 3. It won’t be that easy next week as F. Ianuali is back on the Gold court after a spirited comeback with D. Johnston from 1-5 down against M. Young and J. Plapp. L. Hollister’s forehand banana down the line is back and he is finally finding form to take out court 3. D. Robinson seemed to have oiled his parts and was unstoppable on Court 4. D. Bell and H. Clarkson share a bit of Silver D. Bell was exceptional in guarding his side of ...the court all night (check out the photo). On court 6, M. Clemens looked comfortable all night not sure how the rest of his night went as R. Clemens did not look happy after the game. J. Winkel gets her first win on court 7 well done. Finally, G. Ryan's serve held strong in the wind and deservedly gets off court 8 is this the win he needed to start challenging for the Silver court. Congratulations to all winners and to all the losers there is always next week. Check out some of the action, full results and ladder below.
