07.01.2022 Skeleton Ultra Capacitors Tom first came across ultra-capacitors at the last All Energy Exhibition in Melbourne. At that time he was interested in the idea th...at ultra capacitors could be an alternative to battery storage as we know it today. Tom recently met with people from Skeleton at Intersolar 2018 in Munich who explained the technological position of ultra-capacitors in the energy storage landscape. The fast charging and discharging attributes of capacitors are complementary to battery storage technology. They can extend other batteries' life as they assist with peak power management of sites. Ultra-capacitors have also found applications in the automotive industry as they harness kinetic energy into use as a fuel saving opportunity.
