08.01.2022 So as we can't have our Friday nights I thought about a question to post On a flight from Archerfield YBAF to Longreach YLRE a passenger says they need to land and you decide to divert to Taroom YTAM There has been rain in the area and overflying the YTAM circuit you notice a dumbell displayed near the windsock. This means A) As there are no sealed runways you cannot land B) You can use any runway as long as you remain on the runway C) You can land on either runway but must use the other for takeoff D) You can only use runway 12/30

06.01.2022 From the HARS Aviation Museum - Parkes comes an appeal to help complete their Neptune A89-302. From Matt De La Hunts, We are progressing well with the reconstr...uction of Neptune 302 and as you can see from the attached photos she is looking better everyday. We are calling for help as HARS is a non profit organisation and funds stopped when COVID-19 hit. We are wanting to purchase a Neptune tail turret and install this in time to celebrate the Airforce 100 years , We think this would be an import part of RAAF history to include with 302 . We however need a sponsor for this turret apart from transport from the US we need to find $7,000 Aus to get it to our shores. If you would like to help in full or in part please reach out to myself and or HARS to find out how you can donate and receive a tax deduction. For any of those who can be involved we would make a plaque and involve them and their families in the project so as they can feel like they have helped keep the history alive by completing this aircraft. If you have any spare Neptune parts in your garages that could help complete this project please let us know. Thanks in advance See more
