Land owners and farmers adjacent to rivers and creeks should monitor river levels and the weather, and:... If necessary relocate or secure farm machinery, irrigation pumps and other equipment. Consider when to move livestock as roads may close early. If necessary, relocate or move livestock to higher ground. Never drive, ride or walk through floodwater. 21.01.2022 Severe Thunderstorm Warning! For Storm damage assistance call the NSW SES on 132500 Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Orange, Dubbo, Parkes, Wellington, Gilgandra and Peak Hill.... The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony. * Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences. * Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill. * Unplug computers and appliances. * Avoid using the phone during the storm. * Stay indoors away from windows, and keep children and pets indoors as well. * For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES (NSW and ACT) on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 8:50 pm. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.

12.01.2022 ****WARNING NOW CANCELLED**** TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Thunderstorm Warning... for DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAILSTONES and HEAVY RAINFALL For people in Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes, Snowy Mountains, Australian Capital Territory and parts of Mid North Coast, North West Slopes and Plains, Central West Slopes and Plains and Riverina Forecast Districts. Issued at 11:48 am Monday, 20 January 2020. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OUTBREAK ACROSS SOUTHERN NSW A low pressure system over inland New South Wales is drawing humid air across eastern parts of the state causing widespread thunderstorm activity. This system is expected to gradually move to the Tasman Sea later tonight. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Newcastle, Gosford, Sydney, Wollongong, Nowra, Batemans Bay, Orange, Canberra, Goulburn, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga and Albury. Yanco AWS recorded 25mm of rainfall in the 30 minutes to 8:30am. 11.01.2022 Dubbo City Unit is proud to be hosting an AIIMS Principals & Functions Course. AIIMS - Australasian Inter-Service Incident Management System, is the system used by all emergency Services for the management of emergency situations, including Floods and Storms. For a number of these participants this course is rather timely as Northern NSW is planning and preparing for Moderate to Major Flooding.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and damaging winds in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Port Macquarie, Taree, Newcastle, Gosford, Sydney, Wollongong, Armidale, Orange, Katoomba, Tamworth, Dubbo and Parkes. 03.01.2022 We are once again devastated by the loss this fire season has brought upon not only the NSW Rural Fire Service but the NSW community. Yesterday afternoon, it was confirmed that a C-130 Large Aerial Firefighting tanker has crashed in the south of the state killing all 3 on board. Our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues.
