25.01.2022 Dubbo College competed in the Regional League Tag Competition held in Dubbo recently. The day was had a focus on fun and participation with some fantastic skills on display from all teams. Over 300 girls travelled to Jubilee Oval to take part in the day which had an U/14 competition as well as an Open division.... All teams had a fantastic day playing 4 games against teams from across the region. The Senior Campus team won all of their games, while South Campus is to be commended on playing in the open competition against senior students. The Delroy Campus team were the great improvers on the day with the NRL organisers making specific comment of their improvement from their first game to their last. Well done to all the girls from Dubbo College who took part in the day. A big thanks to all the teachers who took teams on the day.

24.01.2022 With the unfortunate cancellation of the 2020 Astley Cup, Dubbo College Senior Campus are running their own, in-house Astley Cup - School of Origin competition. It will involve 8 sports and scored in the same fashion. ... The Year 12 Astley Cup School Of Origin competition includes: 1. Team South: All students who attended South Campus. 2. Team Rest: All students who attended Delroy and other schools. The friendly competition will be played from 1pm on Tuesdays in Week 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Term 3. The School of Origin got underway with girls hockey this afternoon. South defeating the Rest by 4-2 after leading 2-1 at half time. South currently lead the competition 67-33 after 1 sport. Seven sports remain. Next Tuesday will see Girls Soccer at 1pm followed by Boys Soccer at 2pm.

23.01.2022 YEAR 7-8 DEBATING COMPETITION - SOUTH CAMPUS // Last week South Campus versed Young High School in a debating competition, via ZOOM. This was the first round for our A Team for the Year 7 and 8 Debating Competition- a state-wide competition ran by the Arts Unit.... The topic for this debate was "That we should pay teachers a bonus when their students test results improve" South Campus were the affirmative. We are very proud of the way the students set up a strong model and engaged in effective rebuttal. Unfortunately we didnt win this round, however it the first time the students have competed via zoom, and we are extremely proud of the way they handled the change in audience dynamics. The competition continues next week.

RESULTS ... Year 7/8 Girls Netball: Delroy 37 def South 25 Year 9/10 Girls Netball: South 40 def Delroy 22 Girls Touch: South 8 def Delroy 4 Boys Touch: South 10 def Delroy 6 Boys Basketball: South 59 def Delroy 28 Well done to all competitors from both schools on a your performances and efforts in Seriser Cup 2020. Congratulations to South Campus who took out the competition 8.5 to 3.5. We look forward to the competition returning in 2021.

22.01.2022 DUBBO COLLEGE - SCHOOL OF ORIGIN UPDATE // The Astley Cup - School of Origin continued this week with boys soccer and girls soccer. Girls results; 2 all draw. ... The feature of the match was the outstanding goal keeping skills of Kenzie Macfarlane for The Rest. Jazmyn Newby and Grace Willis also played strongly for the combined team, while South were best served by Emma Duffy, Jorja Fuller and Tilly Irvine in defence. In the boys soccer a high quality game was played out with The Rest causing an upset taking the match 3-2 after being behind 2-1 with 5 minutes to play. League convert Noah Ryan scoring the deciding goal while Jack Benias and Kade Zaia for The Rest. South were best served by Aeddan Todhunter, Jesse Spang and Michael Toll. After three sports South leads The Rest 157-143. Tennis, athletics and basketball will be played next Tuesday 15th September.

21.01.2022 DUBBO COLLEGE CROSS COUNTRY // The re-scheduled Dubbo College cross country championships were held at the Dubbo Turf Cub under near perfect conditions for racing. Over 50 students from the three campuses battled it out for year group awards and overall honours. ... South Campus Year 9 student Brad Boney-Chillie led the boys field home while Delroy Campus Year 7 student Phebie Ryan created history by becoming the youngest ever athlete to win overall honours in the girls section. The team had the following results: Defeated Canobolas High 9-2 Defeated Gulgong High 10-1... Defeated Bathurst High 8-1 Defeated Wellington High 10-1 Lost to Orange High 3-4 Well done to all the boys in the team and coach Mr Black. The team displayed some fantastic touch skills and a very high level of sportsmanship on the day. Highlight of the day, Year 7 student Mitchell French competing in the Open Competition and being a leading player for the team. The team will look forward to a return of the CHS knockout in 2021, if this years results are anything to go by - they should be most competitive. 12.01.2022 Congratulations to Dubbo College students Tom Coady and Paddy Nelson who have been selected to attend trials for the NSW CHS boys cricket team in term 1 2021. After COVID forced the cancellation of the NSW CHS championships in October 2020 a NSW CHS selection committee picked 48 players from the 10 NSW CHS regions to attend the trials. There were over 100 nominations received. Good luck boys we wish you well at the trials.

01.01.2022 SERISIER CUP // SUPPORT BOWLING As part of the Seriser Cup the Support Units from both South and Delroy Campus run a sporting challenge that contributes to the overall point score. 2020 saw a record number of over 60 students from Support participate in the ten-pin bowling challenge. ... The overall winner was the campus with the best average. Delroy came out on top with an average of 91.077 compared to Souths 86.462. Well done to all the students who took part and special thanks to all the teachers and support staff. Delroy currently leads the Seriser Cup 1.5 to 0.5.
