25.01.2022 Thank you Dubbo Photo News - our community newspaper!
25.01.2022 Are these 2 MPs really serving their constituents by supporting CSG in Narrabri and our region? We dont think so. Help us ask the questions and fill these 2 boxes. Ring Margaret 0438821973
24.01.2022 The focus of this group is to advocate for the natural environment. We will also initiate scientifically -based projects to advance the sustainability of our fragile planet. Currently we have three administrators. We are Michael Longhurst, Patrick Emblen and Margaret McDonald.
24.01.2022 Our beautiful Marshes, at continued risk from poor NSW water management which favour irrigators over the health of wetlands.

22.01.2022 Concerned residents of Dubbo, Walgett and Gulargambone stopped to ask serious questions about the Narrabri Coal Seam Gas Project today at the Dubbo Post Office. Approximately 50 letters were added to both MPs boxes. Many thanks to DEG members Gina, Lou, Karina and Julie.
21.01.2022 Please send email to Dugald Saunders tonight as the lifting of the 30 year-old ban on uranium mining in NSW is on tomorrows agenda. The NSW Govt is considerin...g the idea of lifting the ban on uranium mining and having nuclear power. I personally have fought this issue for at least 35 years and here we go again. This is my letter to my local MP: "I am strongly opposed to the creation of a nuclear power industry in NSW, and the lifting of the 30 year old ban on uranium mining. Nuclear energy is not viable because of the massive and unsolvable problem of nuclear waste for thousands of years. Economically it is hugely expensive, as well as taking many years before producing electricity. What we do have in NSW is great potential for solar, wind and battery storage capacity. Recently the Climate Council released its Clean Jobs Plan NSW, identifying 25,000 jobs that could be developed in sustainable industries. Of these, 5,000 5,500 were in utility -scale renewable energy. Our electorate is part of the Central- West Renewable Energy Zone, which has projects that could be accelerated to provide further employment. Hundreds of jobs could be created while bringing much needed investment to our region. We do not need uranium mining and nuclear power." See more
21.01.2022 From Tim Flannery, chief councillor of The Climate Council: "So much damage has already been done to the climate system that a cascade of severe consequences is now inevitable. "
21.01.2022 Central West Environment Council meeting at Orange. Dubbo Environment Group has joined CWEC so we can share ideas and support across the Central West.
21.01.2022 John Kerry is Biden's special envoy on Climate. "A column in the Australian newspaper this week was highly critical of Kerry and reported that the former Australian prime minister Tony Abbott found the then secretary of state relentlessly focused on climate change as a security issue. "
21.01.2022 The national mean temperature for November was the highest on record for Australia as a whole, at 2.47 C warmer than average (previous record was +2.07 C in 2014): Bureau of Meteorology 2/12/20
21.01.2022 Come join us along the road opposite the Dubbo Information Centre. Margaret McDonald will be there. Bring a seat.
21.01.2022 Thank you Dubbo Daily Liberal for keeping the issue of NSW's failed river management in the public eye.
19.01.2022 This article will tell you everything you need to know about the Gin Gin weir and its impact upon fish. . . A great information source.
19.01.2022 Green groups have slammed the state governments plan to allow uranium mining in New South Wales. The premier has been accused of caving in to the Nationals and... One Nation, causing serious frustration within Liberal ranks. www.7NEWS.com.au #nswpol #7NEWS

Hear from experts about the water crisis that devastated river communities and the environment. Our panelists: Maryanne Slattery, Director, Slattery and JohnsonMaryanne was a Director at the Murray-Darling Basin Authority for 12 years. 18.01.2022 "EQUITABLE use of water in the Murry Darling Basins Barwon-Darling and lower Darling reaches is now a pipedream, despite the state governments release of a policy to manage one facet of it, says Australian Floodplain Association president Justin McClure."
18.01.2022 I wrote this letter as an individual (my fellow admins are not stirrers like me!) Thank you Dubbo Photo News.
17.01.2022 Our scaled back Save the Pilliga Meet (Covid restrictions). It was a chilly start but well worth it. A big thanks to the DEG family and thanks to all you horn honkers!
17.01.2022 River St. Bridge meeting, Wed 2nd Dec, Jacaranda Room, Dubbo RSL, 7pm. David Harris MP who will present the bridge- petition to Parliament will be in attendance. He wants to hear from the Dubbo community on this issue. The inner-city river and its banks, Wiradjuri Park and more than 11 old growth native trees and stags will be effected from the Railway overpass to River Street. Please attend if you can.
16.01.2022 We are there today, Wednesday, at Church St. and on Friday at the Post Office. These MPs need to be held accountable for the damage they are proposing in the Pilliga.

14.01.2022 Reminder... say NO to CSG this Saturday.
13.01.2022 It was almost constant signing today at the Post Office. Thanks Di Clifford and Karina McLachlan for your help, and to Lou and Kris for stopping by.
13.01.2022 The Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act is Australias central piece of environmental legislation. The Morrison Government is seeking to weaken them. Who would guess? This will be our next issue to fight.
12.01.2022 Please support this.
11.01.2022 All the economic falsehoods behind gas explained here, such as "The most glaring falsehood in the Acil Allen supplementary submission to the Independent Planning Commission (IPC) which will decide shortly whether to approve the Santos project is that gas demand is not relatively flat, it has fallen." Say a VERY LOUD and a VERY ANGRY, "NO WAY!" to this industry. Join us this Saturday morning along Dubbo -Gilgandra Highway opposite the Dubbo Information Centre, 9-12.30.
11.01.2022 Dubbo Environment Group will complete the collection of letters to Nats Party MPs Mark Coulton and Duglad Saunders this Saturday morning. We will have an estimated 200 letters in each box to deliver on Tuesday 8th September. Despite requests throughout the prospective gas field region to "NO CSG" groups, no letters have been returned to [email protected]. They have all come from the hard work of Dubbo volunteers on the street. Many thanks to those generous supporters.
10.01.2022 We are tired of inquiries. NSW Govt, just do the right thing!
10.01.2022 We would appreciate support for this event to stop CSG in the Pilliga. 20 people only at either venue.
08.01.2022 Temperature averages up, rainfall average down.
07.01.2022 Some useful advertising from personal experience.
06.01.2022 More letters needed. Can you help?
06.01.2022 Thank you Daily Liberal, 16th Sept.
06.01.2022 A handful of our members lined the inner- city Gilgandra highway yesterday to take a strong message of dissent to hundreds of travellers: "DUBBO SAYS NO! TO CSG IN THE PILLIGA" Thanks to Patrick, Michael, Lou, Gina, Julie, Di Clifford and to Mat Parmeter for dropping by.
05.01.2022 There is no PEOPLE POWER without people! There are enough placards to make drivers along the inner-city main highway to Gilgandra notice. Bring your own if you can, but YOU in person would make all the difference, even for half an hour. The opposite Dubbo Information Centre fence- line will be covered with banners. Time: Saturday 5th Sept, 9 am - 12:30 Where: Katrina Gibbs Field below Office Works
05.01.2022 The boxes are filling up! Di and I were at Church Street on Wednesday 26th. Karina and I will be at the Post Office tomorrow morning.
05.01.2022 The long shot, August 22.
05.01.2022 Under threat from the Narrabri gas project
04.01.2022 Hunter Valley: This is what happens to our economy and our health when coal mines open up and expand. But does anyone care? Do you? Watch the full doco on Iview: https://iview.abc.net.au//fight-for-planet-a-our-climate-c
04.01.2022 Why renewables are being installed despite a hostile political environment. Now if the Govt.could just get behind storage and Electric Vehicle infrastructure.
04.01.2022 Thank you Dubbo Photo News ...
03.01.2022 Members! This young girl is afraid for her future. If only we could all be as brave.
03.01.2022 Dubbo Environment Group delivered 218 letters to Duglad Saunders and 224 letters to Mark Coulton today. The letters ask critical questions about the Narrabri Gas project and were signed from citizens throughout the gas field region plus Newcastle and Tasmania . Thank you to Michael Longhurst, Gina Britten, Julie Rauchle, Di Clifford, Marg and Jim McDonald and to the 2 community supporters at Mr Coultons office.
02.01.2022 Dont hold your breath till 4th September for the IPC to turn down the Narrabri Gas project. Scott Morrison answered Senate questions about energy this week. "New gas pipelines would gain taxpayer support to increase energy supplies to industry and households under plans put to Prime Minister Scott Morrison from his top business advisers. The proposal includes a federal guarantee to underpin new investment in domestic pipelines, just as opponents of the projects call for untapped gas to be left in the ground."
02.01.2022 The dangers of wind turbines!
01.01.2022 Australia ignores its chance to capitalise on renewable energy resource -building because the LNP says, "the [international] sanctions would be a new form of protectionism designed to shield local [fossil fuel] industries from free trade." Dinosaurs sending us all down the creek!
