23.01.2022 Yesterday the Dubbo Devils u13 boys kicked off their western youth league season in Mudgee. The lads took on last years champions Orange tigers first up in the morning match. Dubbo hit the pitch with a fantastic start, completely controlling the tempo and ball posetion. Dubbo coming away with a comfortable 7 nil win (Goals to, Jakob 2, Nick 1, Denim 1 Matt 1,Bailey 1, Dan 1.)... The afternoon match Devils went up against Orange Lions, Dubbo again were fantastic out of the gates to again dominate all aspects of the at times physical match. Dubbo again coming away with the win and another clean sheet 7 nil. (Goals to Jakob 3, Nick 1, Matt 1, Harley 2.

21.01.2022 Hi all, Weve just received the below communication (and letter attached) from the Chief Health Officer to the sport and recreation sector recommending tightening restrictions on sport to reduce risk of transmission. For grassroots association football, our initial reading is that the below notes are the most important:... Cease face-to-face social activities relating to community sports (e.g. award ceremonies, end-of-season social gatherings, post-training group dinners) Avoid carpools or bus travel with people from different household groups where possible; and For local activities, limit spectators to one parent only, where the child requires parental supervision during the sporting activity. Were currently assessing the information, especially in respect of how it affects Football NSW competitions like NPL and other State competitions. FNSW

21.01.2022 Dubbo. Under 10 western youth league Game 1 (Dubbo vs Orange Lions) The boys played their first ever game together against a very physical & structured Orange Lions team. Dubbo opened the scoring after about 5 mins to take an early lead 1-0. Orange Lions hit back with a quick couple of goals to go into half time 2-1 up. Early in the 2nd half saw Orange take a 3-1 lead. Dubbo kept persevering & managed another goal clawing back to make it 3-2, & despite them starting to "click..." as a team, they had a few more attempts at goal but couldnt find the back of the net. Dubbo eventually going down 3-2. Game 2 (Dubbo vs Mudgee Gold) Dubbo, now having a game together under their belt was ready for their next opponent. Again, Dubbo scored first, this time after about 10 mins into the first half. A very skilled & fast Mudgee side managed to equalise before half time sending both teams into the break 1-1. 2nd half saw both sides showing that neither of them were wanting to finish the game a draw, with Mudgee hitting the crossbar with a cracking shot & Dubbos keeper securing the ball before a penalty box full of Mudgee players could swoop on the loose ball for a cheeky goal. Dubbo kept battling with the match winner eventually coming for the boys towards the end of the match. Dubbo win 2-1.

20.01.2022 NSW Health has announced changes to COVID-19 Restrictions relating to Community sports. From Saturday 26 September: More than one parent may now attend community sporting activities if physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres can be maintained between people that are not from the same household. ... Please note that while the one parent per child has been lifted the public health order restrictions of 500 people total per sporting facility, 1 person per 4 square metres and the 1.5m social distancing still apply and sporting clubs must have a COVID Safety Plan which aim to achieve this.

19.01.2022 The Dubbo Devils U12 Girls team travelled to Orange on Sunday for their final match of the shortened Western Youth League season, against Lachlan White. The Dub...bo team went into the match equal on points with Lachlan Maroon, with both teams recording a win and a draw in Forbes three weeks ago. Dubbo were a bit disjointed at the start of the game and were unable to convert their territorial dominance. As the first half went on Dubbo took their chances and took a comfortable 3-0 lead into halftime. In the second half Dubbo continued to put pressure on their opponents who defended resolutely and managed to keep Dubbo scoreless in the second half. This brought the final point score down to the last match between Lachlan Maroon and Bathurst. Despite Bathurst scoring first Lachlan dominated the game and ran out 3-1 winners. This meant Lachlan Maroon and Dubbo finished equal on 7 points each and the goal difference was also equal. Dubbo clinched the title by scoring more goals than Lachlan Maroon during the competition. Congratulations to the Dubbo team on this result. The team has trained and developed in this interrupted and unusual representative. The combination of the experienced players, and a number of new and younger players, listened and worked with commitment and enthusiasm to show pleasing development of their individual and team skills to get a just reward with this achievement. This result, and the effort that was behind it, augurs well for the future of girls football in Dubbo. Trevor has supported E.D.U since the 1995 with three of his ch...ildren playing for the club over the years. He even participated in one season as a player. Trevor was over the years was involved in many leadership roles within the club and supported many of its fund-raising efforts. In more recent times he was often down at games watching both Men’s and Women’s teams playing and witnessed many of E.D.U successes. We will miss you.

To all teams that unfortunately could not feature in the finals due to the unusual season we congratulate you on your efforts in going forward with our season . A reminder that no glass bottles are permitted in the complex .... Those clubs that have played in the WPL and have players backing up and playing in the local grand final , please note the competition rule for this year of any WPL players need to have played 5 of the last 6 games in the local competition to be eligible for the final series . 14.01.2022 Under 12 girls Dubbo Devils U12 Girls travelled to Forbes last Sunday 9th August, for their first matches in a shortened WYL Representative season. Dubbo started strongly, creating a number of chances and taking the lead with three first half goals. However Bathurst got back into the match with a goal just before halftime. In the second half Dubbo again worked well in attack, dominated possession and created many chances with good teamwork and aggressive defence to run out 6...-2 winners. Goal scorers were Bella Sallustio(2), Rebecca Anderson (2), Taylor Wake and Ruby McLachlan. In their second match Dubbo came up against a skilful Lachlan Maroon team who had also had a win in their first game. Dubbo again started strongly and aggressively putting the Lachlan defence under pressure. However Lachlan scored first after they took advantage of some defensive errors from Dubbo to lead 1-0 at halftime. Dubbo started the second half determinedly and drew level after Haylee Mooney scored a great individual goal. Dubbo dominated the second half and despite a number of chances they were unable to score a winner. All in all the girls played with commendable commitment, teamwork and enthusiasm in trying wintry conditions. Finally thank you to the parents for their support and encouragement on the day. We look forward to finishing the season on a positive note at Orange on Sunday 23rd August. Gary Jones

12.01.2022 Under 10 WesternYouth League Round 2 Game 1 Dubbo vs Lachlan United Maroon ... The boys from Dubbo went into the game hoping to notch up another win after their successful trip to Forbes the previous weekend. The first half was not to be, with both sides failing to net any goals (Not for lack of trying) & half time left both sides at 0 0. The 2nd half saw a very persistent Dubbo side moving the ball around proficiently around the entire pitch keeping possession & building up their attack. The hard work & hunger was rewarded by 4 Goals being scored by Dubbo by Full time & a clean sheet for Dubbos Goalie Lincoln Clark who had a brilliant game in goal pulling off some amazing saves & with the backs being rock solid in defence. Goal scorers Hugo Dunlop, Chayse Sasse, Jacoby Fitzgerald, Theo Calocouras. Game 2 Dubbo vs Mudgee Black Dubbo went into the second game confident & aiming for another win. But Mudgee showed they were there to do the same. The match was very reminiscent of the last game played against a Mudgee side (Mudgee Gold in the previous weekend), & both sides peppering the goals at both ends with only Dubbo managing to score in the first half, & at the break Dubbo were up 1-0. The 2nd half showed that both sides were hungry for more goals & just like the first half, both goals were under constant attack. Some brilliant saves from Dubbos keeper Nate Fuller kept Dubbo in the game, with a second goal coming for Dubbo about 10 minutes into the half. Mudgee struck back soon after with an unsavable shot from a runaway striker on a counterattack. With the score still in Dubbos favour, both sides continued to test each other to the end with multiple attacks & shots on goal. But the defenders & goalies at both ends were having none of it & were placing enough pressure on their attackers that the score line remained unchanged at Full time. Goal scorers Chayse Sasse, Mitchell Barton. The boys were outstanding in their teamwork & all played important roles in todays wins. Jason Calocouras.

I have adjusted the draw eliminating one of the last rounds to play last Sundays round . This will enable AAW 1 , AAM 1 , AAM 2 , AAM 3 to have played each other an equal number of times . 02.01.2022 All interested players, born in 2008, are invited to attend the First Trial for the 2021 Dubbo Devils U13 Boys Representative team which will be held on Sunday 25th October at HC1 from 4pm to 6pm. Players attending are to wear training gear, including shin pads, bring a drink bottle and if possible a ball.
