25.01.2022 GEURIE WATER UPDATE: Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) staff have worked through the night trying to restore water supply to Geurie. Unfortunately another water pipe had burst between the treatment plant and the town during the night. This has resulted in homes on the higher side of GEUIRE left with no water and on the lower side of GEUIRE with low supply. Crews have worked from early hours in the morning and they have now repaired this second pipe. ... Council is encouraging residents to restrict water use today to essential use in order to bring the levels in the reservoir back up to where they need to be, in order to treat and supply water to the town. It is expected that water will start to come back on in a few hours but may be discoloured. There will be air in the pipeline so it may make an unusual sound. Council staff are hard at work trying to fix this issue and would like to thank the community for being patient.

Please, limit water use to essential in order for the plant to replenish the reservoir and return supply to all properties. Dubbo Regional Council again, thank you Geurie for your patience!

24.01.2022 MANDATORY FACE MASKS IN ALL AIRPORT TERMINALS All passengers and staff at the Dubbo City Regional Airport (DCRA) airport terminal are now required to wear facemasks, regardless of whether they are catching a flight or not. This direction follows the recent decision made by National Cabinet, making masks mandatory within airport terminals nation-wide from Tuesday 12 January, 2021.... Manager of DCRA Jacki Parish says staff are simply following government health advice, outlined on the NSW Health website. We support any measures that will keep our staff and passengers safe, which is why we started wearing facemasks when inside the terminal from Monday. If you are attending the airport, you will be asked to wear a mask. This is noted with signage at the terminal entry, said Ms Parish. Travellers are advised that regardless of whether they enter at DCRA or another airport terminal across Australia, they should have a mask with them. We have partnered with local charity group Pink Angels, who will have reusable masks available for purchase at the terminal, should passengers arrive without their own mask. All funds raised through the sale of these masks will go directly to the charity, which provides support and services for cancer patients, said Ms Parish. 02.01.2022 NATIONAL DESEXING MONTH So, whats the deal with annual permits? On 1 July 2020, the NSW government introduced annual permits for non-desexed cats and dangerous/restricted dogs.... In addition to their one-off lifetime pet registration fee, owners of cats not desexed by four months of age must pay an $80 annual permit, while owners of restricted/dangerous dogs must pay a $195 annual permit. Its hoped the permits will encourage owners to desex their pets, which can improve their health, as well as lower demand on pounds and shelters, reduce euthanasia rates, and decrease the effect of feral, stray and roaming cats on wildlife. Annual permits for dangerous and restricted dogs will improve community safety, by reducing ownership of high-risk dogs, and prompting owners to better train their animal. Sounds fair! So, how can I avoid the annual permit? desex your cat by four months of age, or request an exemption from your vet dont own a restricted dog if youre a breeder, join a recognised cat breeding body manage your dog well to ensure its not declared dangerous Read more here: https://www.dubbo.nsw.gov.au//Frequently%20Asked%20Questio
