05.01.2022 Dubbo Kangaroos great Ollie Hall has passed away. A Wallaby and a movie star. Posted earlier today by Roscoe Romeo.... "A huge inspiration to many Rugby players, especially myself. ... I can never forget being a raw young prop on the final practice before our Grand Final. At the end of our session Ollie grabbed me and beat me senseless for an hour teaching me the intricacies of the front row. Battered and bruised, his words of wisdom were burned forever in my brain. Roscoe, your opposite number has a lifetimes worth of experience over you, is bigger than you, is a Kiwi and is a lot uglier than you and he knows it. If after the first 2 or 3 scrums, he’s killing you, unhook your binding arm...and start punching like your life depends upon it...BECAUSE IT WILL!!! In a nutshell, my opposite number rolled his ankle in the 1st scrum and was taken off and never returned!! We won by 1 point (had about a billion scrums on our 10meter line, but the Brumby pack held on!!! In the ensuing madhouse, people all over the pitch celebrating, Ollie appeared, gave me a huge bear hug (he was a HUGE MAN) and said you did it boy, well done! I still cry over this moment.
