10.01.2022 The Mandurah Rotary Ducks, Dollar Duck and his wife Donor (Donation) Duck, recently visited the MSD BFB (Mandurah Southern Districts Bush Fire Brigade) Volunteers, to do some training to be Volunteer Fire Fighters. They had a Quack of a time, riding in the vehicles and dressing up as Fire Fighters!! You can meet Dollar Duck & Donor (Donation) Duck and their extended Duck family, including the Volunteers from the local Fire Brigades, at the Duck Race on 11th April, at the Mandurah Foreshore between 10am and 4pm. 06.01.2022 The Foster Share Shed is a non-profit organisation with charity status. It was Founded in 2018 by a local foster carer and is now directed by four carers all based in the Peel Region. The Foster Share Shed is a resource shed for carers and children in care. A place where carers can come for a coffee and support from other carers in a non judgemental environment. The Foster Share Shed provides a place for carers and children to access items of need. 06.01.2022 Mandurah Southern Districts Bush Fire Brigade Volunteers (MSD BSB) has been in its current station for 57 years! The Station comprises of a tin shed with add on bits, which grew from one appliance to two. Its like a sauna in summer and freezing in winter. DFES and CoM are providing MSD BFB with a brand new station (see picture), with a separate training room, showers, office, COMMS room, modern kitchen, and air con!... They have long needed an area to cater for social and well being needs. With the money as a beneficiary of the Duck Race, they can build such an area with a BBQ, comfy seating, shade and a play area for the kids of their members. Its been a long time coming and MSD BFB want to do this properly and thanks to being a Beneficiary of the 2020 Mandurah Rotary Duck Race, the funding will allow MSD BFB to plan a social area which will benefit members for many years to come. A business buys a $50.00 Duck Race ticket and the ticket number is recorded on the duck.... The race is held over 100 metres and is governed by tide and wind movement.
