25.01.2022 Now that the building is finished, apart from the seat, I have decided to get some painting done as I cant build the seat at the moment due to a shoulder issue. So I have started on the yellow base coat and have continued to protect the main exposed wood sections as these will be varnished, in some way. Here is a couple of pics of the base coat.

23.01.2022 Top masking tape off, tomorrow I will give it a slight burn before starting the marine varnish procedure.

21.01.2022 Bottom canvas on.

21.01.2022 Six Duchchasers in the back for a quick trip to the St Georges River near Lorne, Vic. Lets see how far up river we can get.

15.01.2022 Next Duckchaser underway. This one will have a custom painted hull and a polished wooden top.

15.01.2022 A customer wanted the same color base as my Duckie, so here are a few pics of it being done.

15.01.2022 Friday night paddle on the Yarra between Herring Island and Flinders St. Perfect weather and a great group of Venturer Scouts for company.

14.01.2022 Last weekend it was great to launch my new Duckchaser at the annual Duckie Camp. We had around 19 Duckchasers come up and have a paddle around Lake Nagambie and the Goulburn River. On the Saturday a smaller group of us embarked on a longer than planned 16klm journey. Although one of the longer paddles most of us had ever done, it was still enjoyable. (Well for most of us).

14.01.2022 So, here are the last few images of the hull. These two are the blackening, darkening.

13.01.2022 Stringers on and glued / screwed into place.

13.01.2022 A quick video of how easy it is to manoeuvre a Duckchaser Kayak.

12.01.2022 A beautiful example of a polished Duckchaser.

12.01.2022 Group of 15 of Venturer Scouts and Scout leaders went for a paddle in Duckies last night down the Yarra River. It was a lovely night and Melbourne shone like always.

11.01.2022 And this is the completed hull painting.

11.01.2022 How do you transport your Duckchaser? Peter from Melbourne transports his on the back of his camper the easy way using a bike rack. Nice.

10.01.2022 Apologies on not posting for a while, been off for a bit of foot surgery which stopped me from putting the layers of paint on the base of the new Duck. Anyway, was able to get another couple of paint layers on yesterday and will hopefully get the remainder on today. Here is what the hull looks like now. I will post another pick when complete.

10.01.2022 A beautiful morning out on Wye River, with the Duckies.

09.01.2022 Two coats of clear varnish on, another two to go. Then the paint pattern can start.

08.01.2022 Some pictures from todays paddle. Only short in distance at just over 1000mtrs from launch to turn around point, but lovely scenery, a great launch spot and nice to sit on the beach afterwards.

08.01.2022 Duckies set up at Wye River in Vic for a few days of R and R.

07.01.2022 Duckie Camp 2019 is booked for the 22nd to 24th November 2019. If you have a Duckchaser and would like to come along, please send me a PM and I will send you the information.

07.01.2022 Combings on. Now the wait for all the glue to dry. Next week the top canvas will be put on and maybe, I f time permits, might even get the seat in. I am looking forward to making the paddle, I am going to try a new way to make one.

07.01.2022 Finished putting the top canvas on last weekend, forgot to put up a pic, so here is what it looks like from the front.

05.01.2022 The marine ply is a little too blond for my liking so decided to burn it a little before starting the varnish process. This is the before and after pics.

05.01.2022 With the wood varnish protected, the layers of spots on the hull is underway. So far 9 layers of spots, one layer per day. I am about half way there. Then I can start the top deck, the the finishing work.

05.01.2022 Final coat of clear now on.

05.01.2022 It is only a short paddle from the Wye River camp to the beach, but it is still better than walking.

05.01.2022 Loaded up with 3 Mal surfboards and 5 Duckchaser Kayaks.

05.01.2022 At Duckchasers we are still making our lightweight foldable kayaks during these "shut down" times. So if you are looking for something a bit different to climb into once we are out and about again, get yourself a Duckchaser Foldable Kayak.

01.01.2022 Duckchaser Kayaks is pleased to be privilaged with a Australian Owned badge, number 630. For more information about Ausowned, check out their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ausowned
