08.01.2022 Just over 2 years ago (January 2016) we decided to try something different and we put four little coloured ponies (3 of whom were only 4 years old) together for a bit of fun. We never realised how awesome they would end up being! Along the way I have been fortunate to experience some of my biggest highs but also some of my deepest lows that I have experienced in my lifetime of carriage driving. On our journey we have managed to win both Victorian and Australian Championsh...ips in some of the biggest team classes ever seen here in Australia (6 pony teams at a competition). It was fantastic to win our final phase (the cones) at the Australian Championships on the weekend. Which was a lovely way to end the teams campaign. For those who werent aware, this was the teams final season. Im not sure what well do next season, but we have achieved our goal (successfully breaking in, training and competing with a team) so its time to move on. A huge thank you to Rodney & Mum. There is no way I could have done it without you. Competing with a team of ponies is not possible on your own, it takes a team of people too. Special mention to Kym who was with us for the majority of the journey. Thanks to Dean for supporting my hobby. Thank you to Wendy Hughes & Marjorie Walter for the loan of spare ponies (Boris & Fred) to add to the team. (RIP Boris ) There have been many others who have helped along the way, but Im sure Ill miss someone if I start naming people. So thanks to everyone who has helped along the way. Finality Folly, Duckponds Chocolate, Duckponds Buzz Light Year and Duckponds Apache, have been and will continue to be amazing kids, just not as a team of four anymore.

01.01.2022 I came across this photo of Rhyl Sir James, a hackney stallion who was owned and exhibited by DPL. The photo was taken at the RMS, in the early 1990s. I thought Id share these 3 photos, the first is the above mentioned photo of Rhyl Sir James. The second is Finality Sir Rufus (hackney stallion), who was by Rhyl Sir James. He was bred, owned and exhibited by DPL. ... The third is Finality Folly (hackney, Shetland cross). Folly is by Finality Sir Rufus. He is currently one of the leaders in my team. I just thought it was interesting to see and think about these three generations of ponies and how successful theyve each been in different areas.
