Our coaching sessions are for young and old alike and run for two hours a day over three consecutive days at Middleton Beach, Nanarup or Muttonbird Beach, depending on conditions. All equipment is supplied or you can use your own. Classes include knowledge of sun smart behaviour, the surfer's code of ethics and how to respect the coastal environment. 01.01.2022 Well after 24 years of coaching surfing and ocean awareness lessons, at the end of the year I will be hanging up the wettie and calling it quits. I still WILL be completing my obligations for John Calvin and St Josephs. I don't want to close down Due South Surfing as too many kids will lose a very popular activity and the Ocean awareness lessons have been very successful for teachers and students. IF I close the SURF school, it will not continue next year. I'M HOPING SOMEONE out there is qualified enough to take over. There are 5 schools and Summer holidays to keep you busy for the first school term as well. I will teach you the format. Is There Anyone Out There. Tony Harrison.

01.01.2022 With so much admiration and awe of Tony and all he has created and given to Due South Surfing Academy over the many years, and the many hundreds of people he would have enjoyed the ocean with, both young, old and in between, I feel both humbled and honoured to introduce myself as head surf coach and manager for Due South Surfing Academy for the coming summer and possibly on after that! My name is Merome Darvill and I have been coaching for 22 years, in and around Margaret Riv...er, in Mexico, New Zealand and Denmark and I am now looking forward to coaching in the Albany Region! The ocean is my teacher, and I look forward to sharing my love and knowledge of what I have come to know so far - the learning continues. Surfing has been one of my greatest joys and accomplishments in my life, its one thing I can say I've done with total commitment, dedication and endless love...
