24.01.2022 I won't lie, during this time of 'not much to do' I've been sharing my opinion a little more freely than usual....this article stinks and my deodorising comments can be found underneath :) If your business is needing to adapt or change but you're just not sure how to, reach out for some easy to understand advice on how a business can adapt and survive by introducing new ways to work. Most of these changes come at no cost to a business and see productivity sky rocket. Ask me how!

23.01.2022 Believe it or not, but there has been some GOOD NEWS events this past week. With both the JobKeeper payment and JobSeeker Corona Virus supplement extended, business and individuals are breathing a sigh of relief. Another good news item (and an area that thankfully isn't breathing a sigh of relief) is the Workers Compensation industry. It's under a long overdue inquiry / investigation into their finer workings. This is a good thing. Simple as that. I can, of course provide advice on all of above, and then some. Hit me up for a chit chat FREE OF CHARGE.

16.01.2022 Thanks Rebecca Gulvin for your recommendation! Much love being sent your way.

12.01.2022 - ' The FWC has rejected a Tasmanian produce company's bid to avoid paying redundancy entitlements due to a "paucity" of evidence that it cannot pay and faces insolvency after a 100% coronavirus-related revenue hit. If your needing to make the tough call of retrenching an employee don't think that a down turn in business can remove your redundancy payment responsibilities as an employer.... I can help with any questions you may have on this!

07.01.2022 'MP Warren Entsch confident JobKeeper wage subsidy will continue beyond September' https://www.abc.net.au//coronavirus-queensland-j/12339744 For those who haven't experienced a redundancy or loss of employment before, the weight of financial hardship and uncertainty can be all encompassing. My fear is the one size fits all approach with Job Keeper has more than comfortably fitted most and I hear the bells of entitlement ringing in the distance. ... Know where you stand in terms of how to manage, coach and direct employees during this time by speaking with me.

05.01.2022 I've been there before myself. Twice. One redundancy and of course recently. It does suck, and it is a roller coaster of emotion and sometimes we let that emotion drive the conversations we have with our employer / team / peers / leaders. I can assist with any questions you may have if you have recently or are due to become unemployed. And no, I don't use the term 'Furlough'.

02.01.2022 Reasonable VS Unreasonable.... It's a broad a term as it is applied in the Fair Work Commission. A recent decision handed down found an employee was to have acted 'unreasonably' in not agreeing to a directive from the employer to take one day a week as annual leave during a COVID-19 stand down. Need some clarity yourself? Get in touch.

01.01.2022 'Unions seek time to respond to COVID-19 building award change' The Fair Work Commission is stepping in to a mind blowing proposal from employer groups to make changes to the Building & Construction Award to effectively NOT pay any worker who has hours reduced by any COVID-19 impacts. It's important to remember during these times that a reduction in business does not always equal a reduction in employee payments. If you need to make any decisions to protect your business, speak to me for advice on how to navigate the maze that is....COVID19.
