23.01.2022 We are so glad that Lachie is ok. Hopefully "Lucy" has a speedy recovery.
20.01.2022 Dumaresq is currently at the University New England's Mosque for CommUNE which is part of the uni's orientation week. We are providing great entertainment for the kids as well as information for the adults.
20.01.2022 Our condolences go out to the crew's families and friends.
19.01.2022 To Geoff Keaton and Andrew O'Dwyer of Horsley Park RFB, from your brothers and sisters at Dumaresq Rural Fire Brigade-Armidale, we pay our respects and send our condolences to your families. Your work is done, we'll take it from here. R.I.P
16.01.2022 Tomorrow (25/9/20) is the first day of very high fire danger for the New England Zone (11). All fire permits have been suspended from midnight tonight.
13.01.2022 The #Armidale area has experienced constant rainfall. This means our creeks have filled up and is now causing flooding over roads. You wouldn’t drive into a bushfire, so why drive into a flood... Please stay safe and avoid driving through a flooded road. If it’s flooded, forget it!
10.01.2022 Diggings crews with assistance from Torryburn, Kentucky, Enmore, Dumeresq, Group 5, Group 10 and 11, as well as Pat Bradley have worked tirelessly over the past... few days to establish containment lines and provide property protection to local residents at the Mt Brown fire located west of Armidale. Strategic overnight back burning operations have fortified our position moving into today, with more local crews getting involved. A huge thank you also to all the wonderful local resident support teams of landholders that were assisting us with their own firefighting equipment, their local knowledge of the topography and existing tracks, and the dynamic trio of ladies for rotating around on their quad bikes providing us with food, protein bars and home made snacks. Good to see some good old fashioned friendly faces, and complete strangers helping each other out, which is what Diggings is all about. Family. And on that note, a huge welcome to our new members that have recently joined us this season, you have added to our dynamic and we are proud of you all. Stay safe everyone. See more
08.01.2022 Today marks the start of the statutory bush fire danger period for the New England/Northern Tablelands. This means you will need to contact your fire control centre to gain a permit for conducting burns. Armidale, Uralla and Walcha can contact 6771 2400 for permits and any further queries.
07.01.2022 This is fantastic news!
05.01.2022 Recently we received a generous donation of cakes, Bikkies and other delicious goods from the lovely team at Helloworld Travel in Armidale. This is the second time we've received a donation from them. As much as we'd love to keep all of this food, we distribute these baked goods to firies who are on the fireground through the New England Catering brigade. We thank you so much for the time and effort you put in to giving us a boost this season.

04.01.2022 Today marks the end of the bush fire danger period for Armidale and the surrounding New England. This means the acquirement of a permit is no longer required before lighting a fire. However there are still a few things you need to do before lighting. Go to: https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au//124/BeforeYouLightThatFire.pdf for more information.
03.01.2022 Dumaresq Brigade along with Herbert Park RFB and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 205 Armidale recently responded to a grass fire on the corner of Donald Rd and Edward Dr. The fire is under control and there is no threat to property. Photos were kindly provided by Mark Pollard.
